Surely Martinez, that guy has got to DH in the AL. Great fit for him too.

@RobRains: Sorry got burned by a fake account. Trade details with Tampa Bay unknown but suspect it is a big package to get Liberatore, who would instantly become top pitching prospect in #STLCards system.

A former Yankees minor league shortstop named Garrison Lassiter — a 27th round selection in the 2008 draft — sued the team for $34 million last year, claiming that Derek Jeter was afraid of the competition and worked to derail his career in the organization. The Yankees went along with it, he said, in order to protect Jeter’s reputation.

The 30-year-old, who put himself through law school, represented himself in the case and compared himself to Los Angeles Dodgers star Corey Seager as one of his main pieces of evidence.

Exhibits A and B presented by Lassiter were "COREY SEAGER STATISTICAL HISTORY" and "GARRISON LASSITER STATISTICAL HISTORY" respectively.

The numbers were not exactly the same for these two players. In the minors, Lassiter never made it past High-A ball and hit .244/.326/.302 at points of his five seasons.

Also weird how the prospect is mentioned first. Normally the major league haul comes first

I'm guessing that the Cards are trying to tell the players involved before it is announced.

That just makes me think he's the biggest name in the deal. The package going back to Tampa would have had to include Dexter Fowler for anyone other than Liberatore to be the top name. O'Neill, Bader, Arozarena, all lower level names compared to a hyped prospect.

If it’s just trading OF depth or someone like Martinez Liberatore is a really solid get

@dgoold: At last check, moments ago, Bader is at least one outfielder the #Cardinals have not been in contact with this evening, just FYI. As long as we're doing this.

The trade between the #Rays and #STLCards is a big one, involving six pieces, three on each side, sources tell The Athletic. At least two of those pieces are draft picks. LHP Matthew Liberatore, heading to STL, still only known name.

Edman is such a Rays player. Probably not in it but he just fits what they target

New Red Sox honcho Chaim Bloom, previously with Tampa, was a big fan of Liberatore. No real info on this but but is it possible Cards are setting up a deal with Boston?
