If he continues to develop. I would rather trade for Lindor, but Arenado is better than doing nothing. Is DeJong that adamant about staying at SS?

I like the Joc Pederson move.

Great upside at the plate, and a much better fielder than Schwarber.

Schwarber was a huge part of the Cubs recent success. But he lost his consistency at the plate, and his fielding was AWFUL.

Sad to see him go(SCHWARBOMBS), but I believe we improved with Joc.

He has been worth -3 runs saved in 2020 and 2019 and had a +3 in 2018
Pederson was -2 in 2020, +7 in 2019, and -4 in 2018

This is from baseball reference
So over 3 years Kyle is -3 and Joc is +1

Got in an argument with my idiot friend the other day telling him Schwarber and Joc we're exact spitting images of each other. Thanks for these numbers that prove me right.

Pederson is 7m but Kyle signed for 3m..... Cubs lost out

I thought Kyle signed for $10. If so Cubs won, $3 million less for a Schwarber clone at the plate who is a better outfielder.

But that's splitting hairs, $3 million difference for a marginal improvement defensively and losing a good locker room guy and fan favorite.

This move wasn't made to make us better this year. We're going to suck.

Whether that was the motivation or not I agree it won't make us better.

But, until the Arenado deal by the Cards, no one in the Central had done much to improve either and the Central was actually still a possibility cause it was a crap division. Now the Cards are a clear favorite.

If Yellich rebounds I still give it to them

Williams and Hader on the back end, Burnes, Woodruff starting and Yellich, Cain, Hiura I tend to still like them... Not perfect by any means but still

IF the cards are able to bring Wong back, our infield will be insane defensively.
