2019 Nathans HotDog Eating Contest
Posted on 6/16/19 at 8:27 am

After a record-breaking performance at last year’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, Joey Chestnut appears poised to defend his title once again. But could this year be the year that he’s de-throned? Fierce competitors Carmen Cincotti and Matt Stonie have consistently challenged Joey for the championship title, always coming up just a little short, further fueling their drive to win. Could this be the year we crown a new champion?
On the women’s side, Miki Sudo stands in a class of her own. The five-time Mustard Belt winner is the favorite going into this year’s event. Our only question is can ANYONE defeat her?
Anything can happen on the corner of Surf and Stillwell. And we can’t wait to see what our competitors bring to the table.
So grab a pack of Nathan’s Famous premium beef franks, fire up the grill and watch live July 4, 2019 on ESPN2!

Are these dogs boiled, broiled, baked, or grilled? Seems like boiled would slide down easier. Or maybe broiled with a nice coat of the beef grease.

I've been out of the game too long. Didn't know ladies like these were in eating competitions lately.

It’s a fun spectacle.
I marvel at the huge dudes eating 18 and looking sick. Then skinny little Joey Chestnut knocks down 70.

Joey isn't small, he just isn't some fat, sloppy lardass.

The annual Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest returns to the Coney Island on the Fourth of July, but despite being one of the biggest advocates for legalized sports betting, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcment has decided to ban sportbooks from accepting wagers on the event.
With the competition just days away, the Major League Eating organization has submitted a letter to the New Jersey DGE in hopes that the decision to prevent the states 10 brick and mortar shops and 14 mobile betting apps from offering lines on the event is overturned.
With the regulated sports betting market still in its infancy, state gaming agencies are still trying to find their footing when it comes to consistent decision making.
The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement had already determined that state regulated sportsbooks would not be permitted to offer lines on high school events or collegiate events held within the state or any event involving New Jersey schools. In a similar ruling, the NCAA has decided to not host any championship events in states that currently have approved sports betting legislation.

I think Stonies thing is quantity rather than speed. If you’ve ever seen him complete the Michael Phelps challenge he consumes an amazing amount of food.

I saw a recent video of Miki Sudo eating 8 pounds of Ramen on a YouTube video in less than 10 minutes.
I don't understand how she did it, but that was amazing.

Dipping hot dogs in water and cramming down your throat makes me want to vomit .
The 3rd world people are starving and we have contests at how much we can eat ... ‘Merica

They should make dipping the hotdog in water illegal. It makes the bun irrelevant.

Does anyone actually do hotdogs on the 4th?
