Stage tomorrow has possibilities...last hundred k is choppy and on some small roads. Maybe we’ll see some good racing. The cobbles on stage 9 are going to be wild! Must watch racing.

didn't nibali race a few classics this season? i know he won MSR, so i wonder if he's licking his chops ahead of the cobble stage, hoping to put in time on the other GC contenders.

The Shark did well in the 2014 cobbled stage of the tour. This stage could be epic if raced properly...
ETA that stage was in rainy conditions.

Stage 5 is rolling. Break of 7 riders with 4 minutes on the peloton. Seems like a day for Sagan. Julian, valverde, or maybe benoot

I like Sagantoday but could and do see British Postal attacking Quintana and Landa just to force Movistar hand early.
Oh great Sherwood babbling already.

Probably not Benoot as he abandoned after his late crash in yesterday's stage. Matthews has also abandoned due to illness.

Oh shite did not realize he had abandoned

Could just look at the profile of that stage and know the outcome! Great last 2K!

Alaphalipe takes yellow tomorrow

Sagan is a monster! He'll win green at the tour for the foreseeable future...Sprinters are gone on this type stage and PS can hold his own in a straight up sprint. He's very good!

Direct Energie is killing it in the breakaways this Tour. The run into the Mur DE Britannia is going to be intense

Dan Martin killing it today. Chris Froome and TD even keel after 6 stages. Should be an interesting next 3 days.

The number of ill timed mechanical errors hitting GC contenders seems abnormally high this year, but it's probably just recency bias.
Patiently waiting for cobblestones.

Agreed. Seems like Niabli is the only one so far who has not had a mechanical. Stage 9 is going to be epic

Interested to see how Valverde holds up on cobbles. Nibali certainly seems like the most confident GC guy for that stage, but Thomas, Kwiatkowski, and Moscon will put Sky in a good spot.
I’d like to see Sagan take another one there, but also hoping to see some other sprinters who can cobble there like Kristoff and Demare.

Dylan Groenewegen before the stage win

Great win for Groenewegen. I guess Gaviria is human. Impey all of a sudden shows up.

Impey must have been feeling good today
