So Thornton was playing through a torn MCL and ACL. What a badass.

I hate Corey Perry so I am obligated to root for Edmonton.

McDavid is fun to watch too

That he is...

I wanted Montreal to trade for RNH last summer, but knew it wasn't going to happen.

yeah. LOL Capitals for that trade.

re: Nashville finishing in the 8 spot, Subban was hurt for a large portion of the year and Rinne was fairly inconsistent. Saaros their backup did play well.

Also Arvidson became a beast later on in the year. Forsberg went on a rampage.

in short, Nashville got a lot better as the season progressed

That Erat trade helped get McPhee finally fired. What a waste.

This is the most excited I've ever been for a Caps playoff series. There's so much riding on this one. If the Caps win this they're going to vanquish a ton of demons and they're likely on their way to their first Cup. It's similar to Boston/New York in 2004. If they fail, it's likely the end of the Ovechkin era.

By the way, while I think the Ducks come out of the west...there is a TON of value in the Preds. I think they smoke the Blues in 5 or 6.

Ain't happening. Once/if the Caps get past the second round by beating their rival who happens to own them, it's going to be game over for the rest of the league. They'd probably take the Rangers in 5.

That's why I'm not mad about it. If the Caps don't make that trade, McPhee doesn't get fired and we likely don't have Oshie, Williams, Niskanen, Eller, Shattenkirk, or well, Orpik. He's a good GM, but he couldn't make those big deals to truly get the roster to the next level. He could only tinker around the margins.

Though, the worst part of the deal is apparently he had the choice to trade Forsberg or Wilson, and he chose to keep Wilson. Ugh.

Yeah this stinks. Idk what to do. Maybe watch a movie or play nhl 17.

Ill be in new york for work later this week and will miss a rangers home game by 1 or 2 days. And the nfl draft is no longer in NYC

Im sure ill still have plenty of options for entertainment though. Is MSG worth visiting if no game?

Exactly. I was so happy that McPhee was finally fired. MacLellan has seemingly made every right move to put this team in contention. I've been a fan of pretty much every move.

And they beat Anaheim last season without home ice.

That was a Bruce Boudreau coached Anaheim team though. He might be the worst playoff coach in the league. Him or Trotz.

I just re-read the deal that landed Forsberg. Wow. That is one of the all-time worst deals in NHL history

I, personally, think it's one of the GOAT trades.
