Unlike Most years, the Western Champ won't be beat down, like they usually are. San Jose was beat to hell after their last series with St.Louis. 3 physical series left them as fodder.
But this year, Eastern Champ will come out beat up. And i wouldn't be shocked if the low seeds beat any of the top4 in East.

that has absolutely nothing to do with it!
You have not been following new playoff seedings? were you around before the last seedings? In the old wales conference? they do it now similarly to how they did it back in the old days.
division winner with most points(caps) plays WC #2
other division winner plays WC #1
the 2 and 3 seeds from each division play each other similar to old days intra divison wars.

I like it a ton better this way actually.
The only thing I'd change is to make every game on 1 day rest, some series somehow get 2 days occasionally during the series.
