I fully expect Blues to dump berglund and a few others in offseason and make a big run at tavares.
they already have some prospects who are lighting up the Junior ranks.
getting rid of stastny will have them at 13mil under cap, with more salaries to ditch.
I wouldnt be unhappy if they trade allen, and then petro in a blockbuster.

Oilers radio broadcast tore Lucic apart for not fighting Kane. Oilers radio guys are among the best. They are not above calling out their own.

The Blues could make a great appeal to Tavares. They are $14 mil under the cap, but they have 14 players signed and of those, they have their top 6 forwards, top 5 defenders, and a goalie under contract. The only player who made $1 million who is not under contract next season is the backup goalie.
They don't just have cap space, they have a set roster. Perfect for Tavares to slide in and be center to one of the best scoring wings on the planet.

No doubt it will be tough, but last year we had to go through a 109 point Chicago, 99 point St Louis and 105 point Anaheim. All as the lowest seeded team in the league so no home ice.

Allen has little trade value now. I don’t see Pietrangelo traded unless Armstrong wants a complete rebuild. Which I don’t see happening. Remember what happened when Pronger was traded away? The players Blues got back did nothing while Pronger was playing for a Stanley Cup in Edmonton.

You dont have to reload to trade petro, you can deal him for a need and top prospect and pics in a blockbuster.

I don’t see how you trade him if you’re trying to win it all in the short term. Top prospects are never a given. And very few have the ability to score like Pietrangelo. I’d rather move someone more replaceable like Berglund or Steen.

And you got through it so banged up, you lost in the Finals to a team that essentially played one tough team to get there.

Excellent point. Same thing happened to the Sharks 2 years ago. Some Sharks players said the Conference Finals against the Blues was such a slugfest that it took a lot out of them against the Penguins the next series.
