ULUM had Conference leading Ga Southern on the ropes before a raucous crowd of 84 last night in Fant-Ewing. Up 16 midway thru the 2nd half. Managed to lose by 2. Way to close Warhawks.

Yeah I know
I'm still in disbelief of the shooting from GA State last night.

What were their injuries? Did the play any games at all this year so far?
Jalen West before the season had an ACL tear along with cartilage damage and it out for the year. Shame as he was granted an extra year of eligibility due to injury last year,
Zeek Woodley suffered a broken wrist on December 22 and was expected to be out 6-8 weeks.

That sucks about West. Interested to see how the rest of the season goes when Woodley returns.

Coach Sless has UNO rolling right now, knockoff Houston Baptist 72-64 last night to regain first place in conference.
Coach Sless is my early pick for Louisiana College Coach of the Year.

Last night was a good one for state schools as the teams in action went 3-0.
Louisiana Tech stayed hot beating Rice 74-64 in Ruston last night. That's the Bulldogs third straight win and moves them to 5-1 in CUSA play.
UNO bounced back from their first conference loss last week as they beat Houston Baptist 72-64. UNO improves to 5-1 in Southland play and remains in 1st place.
Nicholls also got a win at home against Abilene Christian winning 62-59. Good win for Nicholls as it snaps a three game skid and gets them to .500 in conference play at 3-3.

There are no games tonight for state schools, but tomorrow is a busy day as every school in the OP is in action. We also have one game featuring two state schools squaring off against each other.
LSU (1-5) is on the road to take on Arkansas (3-3). LSU has lost 4 in a row but showed a little life last game.
Tulane (1-5) hosts Cincinnati (6-0) in New Orleans. Cincinnati is the only undefeated team in AAC play and this would be a big upset for the Green Wave should they pull off a win.
Louisiana Tech (5-1) matches up with North Texas (0-6) in Ruston. This is a game that the Bulldogs should win and if they do, it would extend their winning streak to 4.
ULL (2-3) travels to face Texas State (3-2). The Cajuns had a rough home stand last week going 0-2 and look to get things back on track tomorrow.
ULM (0-5) will also be in Texas to face UT-Arlington (3-2). ULM is still looking for their first Sun Belt win as they were painfully close to winning their last two games.
The in state match up features Northwestern St (1-4) traveling to Lake Charles to take on McNeese (3-3). McNeese tries to get a winning streak going after winning their last game Wednesday, while Northwestern St tries to get something going after dropping their last game.
Nicholls (3-3) takes on Lamar (3-3) in Thibodaux. Nicholls looks to get some separation from a team they're currently tied with as well as picking up a second straight win.
UNO (5-1) travels north to take on Central Arkansas (3-3). UNO is playing good ball right now and looks to remain on top of the Southland standings.
Southeastern (4-2) hosts Houston Baptist (3-4). Southeastern has won two in a row and is looking to keep it rolling on Saturday.
Southern (4-2) goes on the road to face Alabama A&M (1-4). This looks like a game that the Jags should win as they look to hold their second place spot in the SWAC.
And finally there is Grambling (2-4) who play at home against Jackson State (3-3). Grambling lost both games on the road last week and they look to get a win back at home.
