I'm hoping Love ends up with the Blazers. I know everybody thinks they are tearing it down, after Aldridge leaves. But they still have Lillard. Putting Love with Lillard is a great start. They have tons of cap room and some nice secondary pieces. The Blazers always spend money and find players..

Supposedly one of the reasons he wanted out of Portland is because he was to be "the guy". He won't be that in Houston. He could be that with the Lakers, Spurs, or Mavs.

That makes no sense. He was "the guy" in Portland...

This makes no sense at all.

I'm just telling you guys what was "reported". Something about him not liking the attention Lillard was getting. Maybe it wasn't a valid report, but don't shoot the messenger.

that sounds like a media member running with a rumor (un-named sources) to paint LA as the "bad guy" for wanting to leave
the media wants to create these narratives to sell fictional stories to fans. a star player leaving via FA creates an easy "villain" story
a few years ago the media cannibalized the "he wants to win a title" story with lebron and now they are left with fewer options in how to sell FA

I'm not really sure where I heard it from, but it was from one of the NBA podcasts that I have in my rotation.

Any new news on DeAndre Jordan?

i'm a follower of FA now, not a producer
i think he's holding out for the lakers, if they strike out on LA

He's going to meet with the Bucks, Mavs, Lakers, and Clippers.

I really can't see the Cavs maxing out both Love and TT

They are stupid if they max TT, but he's LeBron's boy so they'll probably do it.

i'd love to know how effective Big V will be coming back to the team.... TT gave them solid minutes as a rebounder/defender, but Varejao gives them that too, plus is better on the offensive end...
if Varejao comes back healthy and effective, Love has more value than TT, especially with Mozgov coming back... if Varejao is basically done, then TT, because of his defense and rebounding, becomes more valuable than Love, specifically for the Cavs....

Regardless, they can't willingly let Love walk for nothing, because they just gave up Wiggins for him. They're going to offer him a max deal or really close to a max deal.

I agree TT isn't worth the max especially as a backup. Whether they let him walk or not they can't get anyone else in FA. They are definitely going to sign both and probably try to move one of them in a year or so if no championship

They could do a S&T with Love, so that they can get something for him. The Lakers could send them Randle, Clarkson and some picks or the Blazers could send the rights to Wesley Mathews or Afflalo. That way Love gets more money and the Cavs get something in return..
Either way, they should never max out Thompson. He is a back-up and isn't going to start anywhere else. It'd be a huge mistake. I just don't think he has that big of a market. Is he visiting anywhere?

It's not a dumb move to bring him back, just a dumb move to max him, IMO. I don't think another team would seriously offer that, they may offer it now though, because they know the Cavs will match any offer.
