are you trolling?

If not, it's because max deals are based upon a percentage of the cap. His deal kicks in this season and is roughly 25 percent of this season's cap. AD's number kicks in next season and is based on roughly 30 percent of that cap (because of the Rose rule). Butler is getting the same contract as Leonard.

how come that's so much smaller than AD's?

AD's is based on next year's cap (he still has a year on his contract left) which is going up significantly. It's the same reason Kawhi's is only at $90 mil as well.

I'm trying not to be a dick, but people keep asking the same questions so I wasn't sure if you were doing it to frick with people or if you were genuinely curious.

that's a huge difference in money, i'd go for a short term deal and hit FA in 2-3 years.

In this climate, with the cap going up, that's not a ridiculous deal.

Compared to what fricking Aminu gives you, its a deal.

I think it's a solid deal for them.

Hopefully Ellis takes that deal. If the Mavs don't get either DJ or LMA, that is great for the Pels...

I'm confused why his is always being reported as 145 mill though. He hasn't met the d rose criteria just yet. He obviously is good enough to get another all star appearance but with his random Injuries you never know.

Yeah for sure. Everyone go East or out of the SW, please.

it can be adjusted. AD is going to get the maximum salary allowed for the 5 years of his deal. it's highly likely that he hits the requirements so that's 145M, so that is being reported. if he doesn't meet the criteria or the revenue changes, that "145" will change.

Kevin Durant salary adjusted

quote:

Durant meets the eligibility requirements for the Derrick Rose Rule, having been named to the All-NBA first team in 2010 and 2011 (he is also a two-time All-Star, but was voted in as the starter only once). However, it was unclear whether the league would allow the rule to be applied to a player who signed his extension under the previous collective bargaining agreement. The league decided last week that Durant does qualify, making him the first player so designated under the Derrick Rose Rule. He will receive the 30 percent maximum salary (30 percent of the salary cap), which is otherwise available only to players with seven to nine years in the league. His 2011-12 salary will be $15,506,632 and his five-year extension will total $89,163,135.

Had Durant not been granted the larger maximum salary, his 2010-11 earnings would have been $12,922,194 and his five-year extension would have totaled $74,302,616. By being granted the larger maximum, Durant earns an extra $2,584,438 this season and an extra $14,860,519 over the life of his extension -- quite a Christmas bonus.

Really wanted him to head out East.

Wonder if this means no LMA. I know it was going to be a tight fit to keep Green and add him, with the timing of Kawhi's signing his deal having an impact.

I wonder if he really agreed or just "Agreed to the framework" like Leonard.
