He sure did

The Cleveland Cavaliers are closing in on a deal to sign veteran swingman Richard Jefferson, according to league sources.

Sources said Jefferson, who committed to re-sign with the Dallas Mavericks earlier this month, changed his mind in recent days and is finalizing a one-year veteran minimum deal with the Cavaliers instead.

Pretty crazy article on Lawson and his problems:

LINK

quote:

“Ty … there were times when he was better than others. But the problems have been there for several years, going back to when we were having a lot of on-court success. I don’t want to go back too far. There were just a lot of times where you were at practice and you just know. You could smell it. You know there is probably deeper issues than he would probably let on.”
Damn. For Ty's sake I hope he can put all of this stuff behind him. There's more to life than just basketball.

Of all the things I would list that the Pels need, I think unskilled bigs would be far down the list.

I mean he is only 30

eta: Also when are y'all gonna let the KD dream die over on PT?

Nah we need a "tough" guy

He basically replaces withey as the 5th big and is a good locker room guy that will keep guys in line.

He'll never get any "meaningful" minutes. Top 12 is set pending cole so any guy we sign is pretty much whatever.

BTW out of curiosity what is your list?

Don't want to waste your time on it because tbh I am probably wrong on a lot of it.

I am just being greedy because I am fully on the AD at center bandwagon

He'll likely never be a full time C as he just much prefers playing the 4.

Gentry will run him at C if it's needed for a little bit(like in crunch time)

Tbf to them like 15 teams think they are in the KD sweepstakes.

It is an odd dynamic because next year's crop of FA's blows after KD and like 20 teams will have loads of cap space. Conley might be the next guy available and the Grizz bringing back Gasol basically locked him in.

KD resigns with the thunder

Cap goes up

Owners can't help themselves and go even crazier on overspending for Mediorce players

I am unsure on it. I fear this new NBPA woman seems like she is not the bargaining type.

If this is true, how much are the Grizz going to have to pay him?

No idea since the cap is jumping up so much. It won't be a max deal though hopefully unless he has some crazy good season

She's firey but reasonable from what I heard.

I think it'll be an NFL lockout(lasts like 2-3 months but is sorted out). Momentum is much bigger than 4 years ago.

I doubt they want to mess that up

Isn't there a salary floor?

If so, they'll basically be forced to.
