Smith had bigger offers, but took 1yr vet minimum deal in LA.

The Rockets offered Josh Smith the non-bird exception of roughly $2.5 million for the 2015-16 season.

Damn.

First it was Doc can't really coach(even though he won CoY in Orlando) when he was in Boston...then championship.

Then it was Doc is terrible GM....

and now the Clipps acquired Lance,Pierce and Josh Smith while keeping DeAndre Jordan.

quite a summer for Doc the GM.

Tbf he cost his team a likely WCF run due to having no bench.

Then if not for a last second change of heart from DAJ they were gonna have to sign someone like Cole Aldrich to start at Center

He is also a SUPER overrated coach imo

obviously, but they are losing Jamal most likely.

They are still about 7 deep of good players, just 6-7 got way better.

Wow. This sucks. I'm pretty annoyed with Smith burning us like that. Clippers have a really nice roster on paper.

How did he burn the Rockets? He was an unrestricted free agent.

But I wish he would have re-signed. I don't understand his reasons for not signing with the Rockets.

He probably thinks the Clippers are a better team, and he'll step in as their 3rd big.

The Rockets saved his image. McHale loved him. We also offered him more money. But no doubt the Clippers are a great situation, and Josh will love living in LA. I don't really blame him. But I'm definitely bummed. That said...

Don't y'all have like 12 power forwards?

He will be playing behind Blake Griffin.

Not only does Motiejunas play less minutes than Griffin, but Motiejunas also plays back-up center, which gives Josh even more minutes at PF.

Makes no sense.

Motiejunas, Jones, Capela, Harrell.

Harrell was just drafted and will be in the D-League.

Capela is mostly a D-League player and has only played back-up center in the NBA.

Jones would most likely be traded if Smith came back.

Capela is gonna be a star in this league. I like him at Center.
