Overtime games are essentially a toss-up, and in the only game that didn't go into OT, Houston had a double-digit lead midway through the 4th quarter.

I know execution is crucial in the playoffs, but as lucky as they are not to be swept, they are equally unlucky to be down 1-3.

I'd say it worked out exactly as it should.

So that's the West. Meanwhile in the east, the Heat are prison raping the Bobcats whose best player got hurt 10 minutes into Game 1, and the most interesting thing that's happened in that series is jesus elbowing Lebron in the throat before he inexplicably stared down MJ. Gripping stuff there!

The Wiz have been awesome to watch, though, and I hope they at least scare the Heat in the ECF.

I gotta say I've had a ton of fun watching TOR/BKN. From the amazing crowd support the Canadians have provided, to the tight games, that series has been fun to watch, as well

No doubt. I still believe in the Raptors, can't wait to see game 5 in Canada.

I picked the Nets in 7, but it's hard not to root for the Raps. Looking at how they won game 4, I was very impressed. You usually don't see that kind of poise from a young team on the road in a pressure-packed game like that. They may be one of the most underrated teams in the postseason.

No. Portland never trailed in the 4th quarter of game 2.

Jeremy Lin Travel

I don't know if this has been posted yet but how the hell did they miss this call

ETA: I guess he dribbled but you just can't see it from that angle.

Meh, it's the playoffs. Calls will be missed. Looks to me like he did dribble, though.

Jesus, I'd hate to be an NBA ref, I can tell you that much

Vince Carter got away with a bit of a travel before his game winner, too. But hey, it is what it is.

What's strange this is how it could shake out in the second round

West

#5 trailblazers
#6 warriors
#7 grizzlies
#8 mavs

East

#2 heat
#5 wizards
#6 nets
#8 hawks

Only one team above a #4 seeding could reach the second round.

I don't get the appeal of Harden. Sucks at defense, flops and doesn't get teammates involved. Great scorer but the other stuff is hard to ignore.

Is there a player in the league that doesn't flop?

The Rockets have posted a double-digit lead 8 different times in the series. The Blazers have had a double-digit lead 1 time in the series.

And every game has come down to the wire, with most of the games coming down to the last shot.

The series really could have gone either way at the end of every game. A foul call here, a turnover there, a missed shot here, etc.

Take last night for example. Refs missed the out of bounds call and said it was off Dwight's knee, when it was obviously off Aldridge. That play led to Batum hitting the 3 that sealed it.

Or Jeremy Lin turning the ball over when it looked like the Rockets were in position to win (2 point lead with 30 seconds left and just got the rebound). Williams even stepped out on that play but it wasn't called.

A call here and there and the Rockets would probably have won.

Daniels misses that 3 in game 3 or they call a foul on Lin, and the Blazers would have won that game.

It's been very tight at the end of these games.

There isn't an appeal of Harden. He's not going to have a lot of fans because his game isn't particularly flash in any way. He's just an efficient scorer.

He's good at getting lay-ups at the rim. He has a nice step-back jumper. And he can shoot 3's. He's also really clutch. He's hit many tough buzzer-beating shots this year. Just last night he hit a crazy 3 pointer near the end of overtime when they needed it most with the shot clock going down to zero.

So he's not really going to have an appeal to a lot of people.

But, but, but I thought Houston was "clutch city".

Houston is clutch city homie, and they have been for 20 years now. I don't see how this is even debateable.

because the mascot is named Clutch? I don't get the relation otherwise.

maybe the Bobcats should rename their mascot to "Champion", then the people of Charlotte could walk around saying it's Championship City.

It had to do with a newspaper article printed in 1994 read "choke city", after going down 0-2 to Phoenix, and also took into account the oilers blowing a 32 point lead in the conference championship.

Rockets then bounce back, beat Phoenix in 7, beat the Knicks in 7. Hence, clutch city. Mascot was named well after the fact.
