In hindsight, sitting Phil and Keegan yesterday evening is probably the biggest mistake.

Stricker held him back all weekend.

And then he had to deal with that one dude shooting -11 on Friday.

He made the par. The bigger WTF was his chip he skulled on 17.

For the life of me I had no idea why he didn't putt that.

That chip was terrible but on 18 he didn't need a par, he needed to make it because he was down one. And he hit probably one of the worst putts of all time.

he needed to avoid the possibility of the Ryder Cup resting on the shoulder's of our struggling players (Tiger, Stricker, Furyk)

He was asked about this during the telecast. He said he anticipated Dufner being in the cup clinching spot, but if he was wrong, he put Stricker and Tiger behind him because they were experienced and could handle the pressure. 2nd guess if you want. I think that's a decent strategy.

As I've said previously, you sit Phil.

Keegan was so juiced, I would have played him.

But DL3 said he wasn't going to play any member 5 matches and he stuck to his guns.

Like you, I would second guess him on Keegan.

No "one dude" shot -11 on friday .. and everybody brings thier best game against Tiger .. that is probably why he has been a very poor ryder cup player over his career which proves the point that he was one of the worst players on the team ...

Your so called hot hands went 0-5.

your correct. Coesarts shot -10 by himself on friday. Tiger and Stricker shot -9 between them in the same match. At the time, Euro's best player would play against Tiger, but he was no. 1 in the world. he should have beat them. he never has been a great 'play for your country' player. he is a money player. but can't blame it all on him and stricker. bradelys mistake was going for it on 17 instead of laying up and trying to at least get a half point. that was just the beginning of the meltdown. lawrie beating snediker? justin rose make two incredible shots to beat phil. can't do much about that. the list goes on.

My cousin works at a small country club right outside of Chicago. He just texted me that Rory McIlroy warmed up at their club today, and the entire time zone thing was mind game to mess with the Americans.

Rory walked in like a boss, and snatched a one point victory.

OK, my above story was made up. But it would have made for a good story.

DL3 fricked up on his Captains picks. He went with experience, but Stricker hasn't played 2012 like he played in 2011. Furyk has been giving it up in the clutch all year. DJ was a risk, but it paid off. Sneds was a solid pick, but he ran into a buzz saw in Lawrie. Nobody was going to beat Lawrie today.

IMO, Bo Van Pelt would have been a good pick b/c he's been playing lights out lately. And Hunter Mahan won the biggest match play event right out of the gate this year. Not sure why you don't pick this guy.

Hindsight is 20-20 I guess.

Before this week, his ryder cup record was something close to 13-14-some halves, and his singles record was 4-1. That's not very poor. Obviously, all but one of his losses was in the team competition. I think, not only did the euros gun for him, but he was very difficult for teammates to play with because of the "Tiger factor." He's probably almost as intimidating as a partner as when he's playing against those guys. That's why it's taken so long to find him a steady partner in Stricker, although that seems to have run its course based on the last two cups.

Please stop with the excuses for Tiger. Have you ever considered that the reason people haven't played well with Tiger is that maybe, just maybe, Tiger isn't a good teammate?

Seriously, the 'Tiger factor' is just an excuse. He's been on Tour since the 1990s for crying out loud. He's not some unknown quantity any more.

His Ryder Cup record in everything but singles is horrible, and he owns it just as much as the guys he's been paired with.
