Are you seriously comparing offenses from the turn of the century to 20 years later?

You all in here arguing about 2019 LSU and 2001 Miami. ‘95 Nebraska shits on them all.

Just taking cues from the fricking idiot that thinks Ken Dorsey was the best player on the 2001 Miami team because awards.

Hard to take you serious when half of the people didn’t even play much less start on they Miami 2001 team.
You keep saying ken Dorsey was the best player not me.

Bryan Mckinnie possibly was. He helped beat 1 top 10 team all year.

You can't compare 2001 college stats football to 2019 college football stats.

They are honestly different games.
I do agree, but if you just look at level of competition and how they fared, Miami is rather clearly lacking.

They basically played lesser teams/a lesser schedule and didn't win as easily against that schedule. I think that's borderline not debateable, so it is a real issue to get past if one is arguing for them as the GOAT team(not saying you are)

Nebraska is in the top 3 discussion. They beat one top 5 team and 4 top 10 teams. Nebraska only had to play 12 games that season.

LSU beat 4 top 5 teams.

I notice that there are 0 defensive stats put up on this topic hmmm I wonder why

Miami PPG given up in 2001 - 9.4 PPG
LSU PPG given up in 2019 - 21.9

ewwwww that's kind of ugly for LSU I must say. Almost like offenses were different in 2019 than they were in 2001. Or Miami's defense was way better than LSUs

Do you really want me to debunk all of the crap you have spewed in here? Like the 4 top 5 wins.

LSU didn't play OSU or Oregon and didn't play themselves so that's at most 2 top 5 wins. I assume you still count Texas as a top 10 win for LSU that season too.

Congrats

You missed the elipses and misspelling

Should read:

quote:

Their best player on the team at the time was Ken Dorsey and Bryant Mckinnei

How do you have 2 "best" players? Best is a superlative.

To be fair. 6 of the teams Miami faced that year finished in the top 25.

A better debate is 2020 Alabama VS 2019 LSU if you're going to base it purely on numbers.

Garbage to who LSU had to face In 2019. Like I said 2 of them teams we took down had won the previous 4 NC’s. Then we beat 5 other top teams.
