Some of those kids he posted barely even played in 2001. Jesus Christ. Take your Miami glasses off for a second. All I’m hearing is excuses.

I never get into the GOAT team arguments because of this. With three games left to play, Bailey Zappe has more yards than Peyton Manning ever had in a season.

Would anyone like to put his stats for 2021 up

23 att for 54 yards and 3 TD’s

All these people look at is future miami years and what they did in the nfl. No one is arguing that miami doesn’t belong in the conversation. The fact is no one can present an argument that 2001 miami was better or had a better season then 2019 LSU.

That pathetic argument is not gonna help 2001 miami team take goat status. It’s only hurting them.

You would think someone would have a good argument for Miami 2001 being the goat but other then name calling and how good Miami players ended up being in the NFL is all we’ve gotten it seems.

Is that team overrated? Of course, but at the time, it was a great all time team. They did get the easy path to a title based on a weak schedule, but so did multiple Alabama teams early on.

Look at the following teams:

Alabama 2011
Beat 2 top 10 teams (one of which they lost to)
BEat 2 top 25 teams

Alabama 2017
Beat 3 top 25 teams and 2 top 10 team
Lost to a 4 loss Auburn team and their own division.

In the end, overvaluing these NC teams happens because they get advantages like playing weaker schedules or getting the break of not having an extra game.

Miami 2001 was a great team with a ton of talent. They are not the greatest team ever because of their draft following that year.

You did by coming in here and providing zero facts. You idiots mentioned players who barely made an impact in 2001 on Miami. That’s how I how you either weren’t old enough to watch 2001 or just hear your friends and people say miami is automatically number one.

This guy gets it. At least he isn’t mouthing off some random Miami players who had no impact on that 2001 team

You asked for a player that won awards that was better than Ken fricking Dorsey.

I submitted Ed Reed, and you sloughed it off, Eric.

3 pages and you still haven’t given a god damn reason why Miami 2001 was better then LSU 2019. GTFO

Ed Reed and stingley making all American won’t help your case with 2001 Miami being better than 2019 LSU.

I don't even object to your claim about best team/GOAT one way or the other.

I object to your mischaracterization that Miami's best player was Ken fricking Dorsey.

Let me put it to you this way squirt, frick comparing stats from 01 to 2019.

Besides QB, I’d take Miami’s personnel over LSU’s at almost every single position

I’ve already gave Ed Reed his props in the first post along with Stingley.

The thread was about 2001 Miami vs 2019 LSU

Cool. That means one team had a better season than the other. It doesn’t mean one team was better than the other.

You’re leaving out the whole argument.

The whole argument? You cry because other people don’t acknowledge the numbers you posted, then say ‘nah uh’ when people talk about those numbers in a way you don’t like.

You claim you want civil argument then act like a child when it’s given to you. So fine.

You’re a fricking idiot for thinking Ken Dorsey was the best player on that team because awards.

Youre a disingenuous hack for comparing Miami’s players drafted in 2002 to LSU’s total players drafted.

Your cherry picked statistics focus on offense, the strength of lsu and weakness of Miami. You conveniently forgot to mention Miami only allowing 9.8 ppg and 270 ypg on defense compared to lsu 21.9 ppg and 344 ypg. You conveniently forgot to mention Miami’s 32.9 ppg differential vs LSU’s 26.5.

In short, you’re a fricking idiot like everyone else has been pointing out.
