If Ron Artest just doesn't lay down on the scorers table NONE of this would have happen.....
If Ben Wallace doesn't act like a gaping vagina, none of it would have happened.

Artest is also the same guy that had to use GPS to get to the staples center each game so it’s not that surprising

It was pretty much an obscure Friday night game on ESPN if I recall correctly.
Ehhh it was a nationally televised prime time game between 2 of the best teams in the East at the time. IMO it wasn’t obscure and it’s not a stretch to think that a lot of people here saw it live.

I wanna say Artest had some other outstanding interviews. During the West Semis against LA, Artest was asked if the physical play between the Lakers and his Rockets bothered him. He said no, and referenced a pickup game where he saw a guy get stabbed in the heart with a table leg.
LINK
I wanna say he mentioned that the toughest guy he guarded was a prisoner or something, but I can’t find a link or video.

The day we realized the NBA was about as legit as the WWE.

I vividly recall watching footage of the brawl on that evening's edition of SportsCenter. I believed I was watching something meaningful, something profound. It was about class, it was about race, I thought. I believed the gap between the paying customers and the pampered athletes had grown so wide that it had come to this. Chaos. I thought sports would be changed forever. I was wrong. But after watching sports for so many years and never seeing anything like this, it was easy to get caught-up in the moment.

That was the last time I remember a NBA player really wanting to fight. Ben wanted to fight and Artest decided to lay on a table and then attack a 150 pound fan. Odd event
