That's simply not true. Not even close. He made one of the worst teams a playoff team in his first season

No he absolutely was not.
Michael Jordan did not have a winning season until he had both Horace and Scottie though
MJs first three seasons were losing seasons without them
MJ without Horace and Scottie
38-44
30-52
40-52
Horace and scottie join the bulls
50-32- First winning season

MJ was out most of his second season.

His third season he was still 40-42
I dont know how else to say it. He didnt have a winning season until Horace and Pippen joined. That isnt a dig its just true

I mean it may be true, but what kind of impact do think Pippen had as a rookie? He averaged maybe 9 points a game. If you think that 9 points a game pushed MJ into above .500 ball, then maybe the roster wasn’t all that great before.
Wasn’t Pip’s rookie year the same year that MJ won nearly every postseason accolade in the book?

When MJ got better teammates, his team got better
This isnt exactly rocket surgery

Never seen a player purposely frick with the other team like Bird did in his prime.
His highlights are so awesome for this reason
The NBA needs another guy like this.

No it’s not rocket surgery. What does that mean btw? I’m just saying Pip wasn’t a top 50 basketball player yet. If Pip and his rookie stats did propell MJ into a winning season, then any decent, serviceable help probably would’ve pushed MJ over .500 as well. It takes a top 50 player in Pippen to go for 3 peats. Don’t mistake me for someone that thinks MJ did anything by himself

Who are the best ones from the prehistoric era?

Did he mention there were only 11 teams in the East and 8 made the playoffs? The Bulls went from 27 to 38 wins with MJ.
The Celtics went from 29 wins ( 32 the previous season) to 61 wins and an ECF bid with Rookie Larry Bird with essentially the same team.. That's impact.

When Dr. J retired in 1987, he was widely considered the greatest player ever. Just 30 years later, he gets left off the majority of top 10 lists. This is almost entirely due to a poorly maintained statistical record in his time in the ABA. But the modern NBA is built almost entirely in his image. He's the guy who brought the game above the rim and turned it into a showcase for beautiful athleticism.
As time passes, all that remains are the numbers on the page. He is going to slip out of the cultural memory of the game, surpassed by his acolytes, Bird, Magic, and especially Jordan (though Jordan named David Thompson as his favorite player).
