It is pretty amazing how many retards there are on this board the keep screaming about conference championships when they have cleary stated multiple times that they only serve as tie breakers.

Ohio State played a brutal schedule this year and are getting rewarded for it like the committee has said teams would. It is really not that hard to understand.

Judging by what Hocutt is saying, you get the sense he's prepping you for Michigan's potential bump up.

Well you people should take a look at my posting history. I basically said exactly what people are saying now about the mandate for the last week in probably 50 different threads. OSU is a lock.

My only concern today was they would drop Nebraska (which they did) add Pitt and Iowa (only added Pitt so didn't give PSU a 2nd top 25 win).

If one of them wins it all, it'll look like the committee did their job.

How bad would the melt be if we get a rematch of The Game for the NC.

OSU and Michigan would have likely gone undefeated with PSU's schedule.

Playing OSU at night in Happy Valley is a huge advantage that should be taken into account.

With a Washington and Clemson loss this weekend, we could possibly see 3 Big 10 schools in the playoffs. #2 Ohio State #5 Michigan #6 Wisconsin/ #7 Penn St. Winner

and then Colorado rightfully freaks out. 2 loss pac 12 champion is behind 3 big ten teams?

Same record, 43 point win. Pretty clear to me. Leave the other stats for nerds

I mean, seems likely if that scenario plays out.

If Washington loses and Wisconsin wins, does Wisconsin jump Michigan? Wisconsin and Michigan have to have similar strength of schedules, I would imagine. Wisconsin would have one more win. If you're looking at "tie-breakers," Michigan won the head-to-head, but Wisconsin would be a conference champion.

Would be close. I think they'd jump Wisconsin ahead.

Head-to-head is only one of the "tie-breakers." Another would be conference championships, which Colorado would have and Michigan wouldn't.

But, I do agree, Michigan would be ahead of Colorado.

...two of whom have better records and tougher schedules, one of whom has a half game disadvantage, tougher schedule, and a head to head win over Colorado.

Buffs won't have much of an argument.

So the different scenarios look like they'll play out like this (with all the usual caveats about huge blowouts or something similar):

Clemson and Washington win this weekend:

1) Alabama
2) Ohio State
3) Clemson
4) Washington

Washington loses. Clemson wins. Wisconsin wins:

1) Alabama
2) Ohio State
3) Clemson
4) Wisconsin

Washington wins. Clemson loses. Wisconsin wins:

1) Alabama
2) Ohio State
3) Washington
4) Wisconsin

The chaos scenario...Washington loses. Clemson loses. Penn State wins:

1) Alabama
2) Ohio State
3) Colorado?
4) Michigan? Penn State?

That's the one I can't figure out. I think Michigan is pretty close to being locked out in just about any scenario. Wisconsin would definitely jump them, as would most Colorado most likely. I don't know what they'd do with Penn State in that scenario.

Ohio State is not going to keep the #2 spot, under most situations

they are a lock for top 4, but they will not stay #2
