Illinois vs Wisconsin ends in a 3-3 Tie. Wisconsin managed to end their season with 2 ties in the same year going 4-5-2. What's your thoughts on Ties versus the current OT format?

Adam Rittenberg Write up on it.

Kevin Hardy is a big man.

I hated that teams would play for a tie instead of a win so I was very happy once CFB went to the OT format.

Michigan had 3 ties in 1992. Going 9-0-3. That's some stupid shite.

Better a tie than some of the shite I've seen in overtimes.

should be a combination of both.

game cannot go past the 3rd overtime. if it does, it's a tie.

Ties are for soccer queers. You play until there is a winner and a loser.

Ties are dumb. Imagine spending tons of money getting ready for the event of a game and doing tons of mental and physical prep as players and coaches and then having an inconclusive result.

You play 60 minutes, then it should be what it is... Overtime is artificial and is best kept for when you absolutely positively can’t have a tie, like when you have a trophy to give away. In any other playoff game, the higher seed should move on in case of a tie.

Pretty sure there was one specific tie between Michigan St and ND that was used to screw Alabama out of a title one year because both teams were playing not to lose.

Not that Alabama probably didn’t claim that title anyway, but it is fricking stupid to have two Top 5 teams play each other, tie, then claim that neither should drop in the polls.

they mostly happened back in the day when teams played for field position and ran the Les Miles offense and punted a lot more. They’d get three yards and a cloud of dust and like it.

Hell the LHSAA used to decide playoff games that were tied by first downs and penetrations... that would be a shite show now

Alabama does not claim 1966. Despite being the two time defending champion.
