The list makes sense if you take title of said list seriously, not the title of this thread.

But I agree that I'm sure you can find much stronger examples than Bryce Brown and Perilloux, who had moderate success in their own right in college.

Is there a difference between fizzling on the field vs off?

Maybe his career at LSU didn't live up to expectations. Keep in mind that he sandwiched between classes that featured [Ricky Francois & Drake Nevis]

No argument. He was used poorly at LSU and in some circles people believe he would have been better suited to go to a place like Oregon.

Went on to run track. You can't really do much about a guy who changes sports.

Chris Davenport

From what I remember, he played in 1A and went beastmode on most of his competition. He could very well be a product of inflated expectations.

Mustain was an idiot for transferring to USC.

Well he saw the writing on the wall when Petrino and Mallet came to Arkansas.

Mallet transferred after the 07 season. It had nothing to do with Mustains decision

didn't it have something to do with Casey Dick?

it had more to do with Houston Nutt taking over the offense from Gus Malzahn. They lost to USC, then won 10 straight games. Apparently winning that many games with a true freshman wasn't good enough for ole Nutt.

Malzahn then left to Tulsa, Mustain and Damian WIlliams transferred to USC.

But Powlus was the epitome of never living up to the Beano Cook multiple heisman status

Yeah, Bryce Brown really fizzled. Right into the NFL

He's actually going to be a solid pro if he gets the starting job. Not behind Shady but for another team. You saw what he did when Shady was hurt last year

Also, you can't really call someone a fizzle if they're still in the NFL. aka Russell Shepard

Houston Nutt completely ruined Mitch Mustain's career by benching him even tho they were undefeated.
