KU finally makes a 3.

Wichita was getting anything they wanted the second half. Easy drives to the hoop, open jump shots, that was the bigger problem. Hell Kentucky shot poorly yesterday, it was their defense that allowed them to cruise.

10 of 19 from 3 for WSU. IMO story of the game.

I know the NCAA Tournament is somewhat of a crapshoot, and Self is a great coach...
But he has 2 Final Four appearances in 12 years at Kansas, with a lot of very good teams.
In that time frame, nearly every single elite coach you can compare him to has more than that.... Izzo, Calipari, Donovan, Pitino, etc. Only Boeheim doesn't, but I'm not very high on him. Coach K is even with him, but Coach K really doesn't have much to prove at this point.
So, as a Kansas fan, what do you make of that? I think it's at least noteworthy. No matter how you slice it, his teams really haven't achieved the consistent top level success you would want in March.

His 2008 FF should have been vacated.

I hate that Wichita won, although I had them in my bracket.
Wichita played well though.

Definitely underacheived a bit. 2004 is the one that had to hurt. Gonzaga and UK lose early and Burr calls a push off on Langford 80 ft away in that elite 8 game.
I think most people had WSU here. And alot had Stanford last year due to their height.

Gonzaga looks reallyyyy good.

Dayton is on fire from long range

to foul him out. but no the one that hurt the most is 2010. it always hurts more when you're the best team. title favorites shouldnt go down that early.
this years team and last years team were sweet 16/elite 8 caliber. so yeah, it sucks to lose a week earlier, it just doesnt feel as bad because next weekend would have been gravy.

Gonzaga is a legitimate threat to finally make a FF
Yes I know they play Duke, but they can beat Duke they have size and shooters.
They also have older players

Yes for sure.
All in all I don think it was that bad of a year for KU. They kept the conf streak alive(in a tough conf, at least in the reg season) and should get the consecutive tourney appearance streak outright in 2017.

i agree, but i would have liked an appearance in the sweet 16 and not losing to wichita state

Same...team wasn't going to win anything no matter how much peej was telling everyone that kansas would beat kentucky in the tourny
Posted on 3/22/15 at 7:33 pm to tiggah1981
I wished KU would go into the Round House and beat the ever living hell out of those clowns next year then ask them to play in KC and embarrass them there. Then finally get them in Phog Allen
Problem is it will never happen as KU has too much to lose, Wichita won't agree to all 3, and KU won't allow it just be basketball only.

This Maryland/WVU game should be good.

I haven't seen WVU all year

I've seen them once. No idea what to expect

The only way this is an upset is if you look at the bracket seeding. Wichita State's core of players has had far more tournament experience, including a Final Four and a big time war with Kentucky last year. They weren't going to play scared against Kansas and that's half the battle of playing a blue blood.
