This is an early arse game thread. Not that I'm complaining, this one is going to be a blowout.

Smoking a brisket, ribs and jerky -- the game has practically started already! (And the LSU game was nixed, so this'll have to do )

I'm so ready for this game. I've never wanted a holiday to be almost over so badly. This is going to be a long day.

I really have no idea what to expect from these two teams. Personally I'd take the points with VT. I have a feeling Ohio State wins by 10. Part of me is hoping it's over by half time though.

If we score early it could get ugly. I see a game like the Alabama/Wisconsin game in terms of score.

I don't think their offense can move the ball consistently. This is not the Ohio State defense they played last season. This defense is fast and aggressive.

About what I was thinking too but maybe a little less likely than Bama-Wisky. That was a "neutral site" game in the south.

No Bosa and VT at home is worth a good 6 points right off the bat, I feel. I wanna see if the line increases today, but I'll probably be on VT at this number for a Benji. Let the Marshall profit from yesterday ride.

As a VT fan, I expect this game to be similar to the Bama game a couple years ago when they won 35-10, but only gained 200 yards on offense.

Our D is going to be nasty. Everyone keeps talking about the OSU OL, but a great DL > great OL.

VT sucks at many things, but CBs are not one of them. One of the reasons we did well last year against OSU was our corners can play man coverage with any one.

The issue is which offense shows up for VT? The one where Beamer let Loeffler do what he wants, or the one he puts in a shell.

We have 3 TEs who are all very capable, with one, Bucky Hodges who will be a good pro one day. He is our best mismatch.

But in Bud we Trust

I don't know where you could find 'em at -14 anymore. Gonna buy back the hook?

Season opener night game in Blacksburg. Ohio State is riding high and VTech has been preparing to knock 'em off all offseason. Although VTech's offense was bad last year, their QB is a returning starter and it's year 3 for their OC, so by rule there has to be some improvement. VTech's DB's are nasty and can capitalize on errant throws if OSU's QB's get shaken or are rusty early. Also regarding OSU's QB's, I think it's more of a negative than positive to have this QB controversy situation at this point (turns into a positive once one of them gets hurt). What does it do to a QB's confidence when he thinks he's one bad play away from getting pulled and the guy behind him could outright take the job from him? Having to win by more than 2 TD's in Blacksburg is a tall order for anyone, even the defending champs.

Bud Foster with 9 months to get ready for an offense is a scary, scary thought.

I don't think you're crazy. a 35-17 type score is definitely a good possibility.
