Honestly, I'm in the same boat. The explanation from the Rules Committee made sense.

The explanation about how they had ruled once helps a little. But to say it wouldn't have been fair to Tiger to DQ him even though they got new info is BS, IMO.

I like Freddie but he always fades near the end.

I thought the new rule saved Tiger. Are you saying that they still could haveDQ'd him?

I can see that, but to me, if they reviewed the video and concluded nothing was wrong, that is on them. If they had made the determination that he was in the wrong, he could have signed for a penalty yesterday and this would have been null and void.

Now, Tiger DQ'ing himself is a totally different story.

Up to the committee

For signing an incorrect scorecard, or for blatantly cheating on his drop?

Absolutely. The rule gives the committee the discretion not to DQ. But it also states the committee should DQ for egregious violations.

That rule was put in place in case a viewer saw a ball move while an hd camera was zoomed in on it or something that a player couldn't likely see on his own. Not for standard water hazard procedures.

Gayest rule in golf. If you sign a scoreboard and it isn't right you get DQ.

You play golf you don't practice to look a scorecard.

Well obviously the decision to not DQ him stems from the fact that the rules committee fricked up in the first place.
