You're one of those people that will beat your head against a wall before acknowledging anything positive about a politician that you don't like so, quite frankly, I don't give a shite what you say. It's all going to be slanted, bias, and used for confirmation of your opinion. I wasn't a fan of the Obama presidency, but I have no problem giving him credit for things I think he did right, but unfortunately people like you will never do that with Trump therefor disqualifying your opinion

Where did I make any comment about my own intelligence?

Trump talked like that long before he decided to enter politics. Sure, I guess it's possible his entire life has been an act, but I believe in the old adage of when someone show you who they are, believe them.

And just so we're clear. I'm not saying he's dumb. I think his intelligence is average, and there's nothing wrong with that. Not sure why you've decided to take a defensive stance to that.

By the way, you are wrong about trump actually knowing whether we do or do not have a trade deficit with Canada...

quote:

Nice guy, good-looking guy, comes in — 'Donald, we have no trade deficit.' He's very proud because everybody else, you know, we're getting killed."
He continued: "I said, 'Wrong, Justin, you do.' I didn't even know. ... I had no idea. I just said, 'You're wrong,'" Trump recalled. "You know why? Because we're so stupid. ... And I thought they were smart. I said, 'You're wrong, Justin.' He said, 'Nope, we have no trade deficit.' I said, 'Well, in that case, I feel differently,' I said, 'but I don't believe it.'"

I win the bet :)

That is because you have no interest in being informed. You just want to believe what you want to believe, damn the facts and reality.

And that in a nutshell is the problem with the country and our politics.

Sure I do.

I lean to disagree with the tariffs, but haven't done enough research to have a definitive opinion. Some of the stuff Trump does I despise, some I like.

I agree. As a though exercise can you name one positive thing about Trump?

Like I said before, I did t like the Obama presidency as a whole, but I'm happy to share some of the things that I thought he did well and/or accomplished.

Yep, this is why these conversations are frustrating. Can't let the facts or truth speak for itself.

I will be honest, nothing comes to mind. I have about as low of an opinion about trump as I do any human on the planet that I either know personally or know through seeing/reading a significant amount about. And that has little to do with his political affiliation as I had the same opinion of him when he was recently a democrat.

I really cannot name a positive trait or attribute in Donald Trump.

I do not mind participating in the exercise though. If you want to name something positive about him or a couple of some things I will give an honest agreement or disagreement to it.

Are you banned from the Political Board?

Is that why you started a political thread on the Money Talk Board?

Well, I've read a lot about him. I probably watch 2-3 hours of news a week total so not that much. I read a lot though.

And I really just cannot name anything positive about him. He does not seem to have any redeeming qualities. He seems only self interested. He is not self made (if he had to pay back all the money he has borrowed and lost he would have a negative net worth even with his very large inheritance). He is not intelligent. He is not articulate. He is not well read. He is not honest. He is not giving or charitable, though he lies about giving. He seems to be very jealous and insecure of a lot of things with his thin skin, feeling of always being slighted, excuses, blaming of others, narcissism, and incredible dishonesty in the face of all manner of objective and verifiable facts.

He appears to have no sense of integrity, principles, beliefs, or morals. I mean, nothing. And to top it off he appears extraordinarily lazy. He watches tv all morning, afternoon and night, tweets, and seems to spend maybe 1-2 hours a day in meetings. And plays golf constantly. He is the POTUS. He should be busting arse and all of his hair turning grey from the strain like every other POTUS. Instead he is a sloth that is obsessed with two things: the Russia investigation and golf.

I just cannot think of anything positive about him on a personal level or anything admirable about him on a professional level. Others will have to come up with something, because I cannot.

A lot we could unpack in that post. I’ll ask one question, how is having a global empire and being a billionaire not something to admire professionally?

1. He doesnt have a global empire. He has a family business. It is not that large. He has a shite ton of pass through entities, LLCs, holding companies, shell companies, etc but it is not a global empire. Its a branding and licensing company at the end of the day. That is really all it is and it is mostly family run.

2. He has lost more of other peoples money than he has made. We are talking billions. If he had to pay back all that he borrowed he would have a negative net worth. I detailed this in a post a while back but the numbers are all out there and you just need to take his current estimated assets less his current estimated liabilities less the money he had borrowed and defaulted on.

3. He has failed at every business he has ever gotten involved in. The reason is he is either not smart enough or too lazy to learn the business. Probably both. And he has borrowed money from other people that he could not pay back to fund his many failures. Mortgages, steak, vodka, casinos, airlines, university, board games, clothing lines, the list goes on. If he had to pay back all he has borrowed from others he would be dead arse broke for many lifetimes. Such is the way of the conman.

Fact is trump inherited a lot of money. He has lost more than he has made and has failed at everything he has tried with the exception of branding and reality tv.

There just is not much to admire there professionally - to answer your question.

Go back to the poli board or the OT with your stupid. I don't know anyone who can't say at least something nice about any public figure. You are just showing your immaturity.

I've only seen 1 person come up with 1 thing they though admirable which I disagreed with and explained why.

No one has come up with anything positive about him personally.

Since it seems apparent you have nothing to add, it is you that should go away with your name calling and lack of contributory posts. Bye.

Because no one wants to engage with you. You've already made up your mind.
