Who should I put in my will?

I need to finally set something up. Let's pretend I don't want to leave anything to anyone I know.
Who do I give my shite to?
For example, I saw Tunnel to Towers claim "95% direct to veterans". Would something like that be the way to go? What are some other options?

You don’t have a single family member that’s good people? I have a cousin that’s awesome and her husband has MS in his 40s. They have a long road ahead of them. If I didn’t have a wife and kids, they’d absolutely be in my will.

What’s important to you?
What do you enjoy?
What do you want to improve after you’re gone?

I think you should split it up amongst money board posters if you truly want to help the less fortunate

The FISHER HOUSE is a very worthy recipient. It is sort of like a Ronald McDonald Home, but for the military.
When people go to VA hospitals and have to be there for extended periods, FH provides free room and board, so their loved ones can be on site and close by and not have to foot the bill for rent or food.
Fisher Houses are nestled right up against VA hospitals usually within short walking distances.
They help people of all branches. I have used them in the past myself and it is where I am putting a lot of money when I'm gone.

If you do decide to leave money to a charity, I'd recommend doing a deep dive into them, so many charities have bloated admin staffs and boards that in my opinion steal from the original mission itself.
Sites like Charity Navigator can help give you a better picture of how well they are run.

What about some sort of scholarship fund? Maybe to a kid from your HS or someone majoring in whatever field you are in.
I'm no attorney, but maybe you could form a trust and stipulate the money is invested and pull off the growth to fund the scholarship so it could benefit kids for a long time.

My uncle is a former Marine with no kids. Wife died last year, and he's alone. His heart has always been for kids. He divvied up his will into percentages to Toys For Tots, St Judes, Dreams Come True, then a local church and the local Food Bank. Just an example.
