I have a lot of OKE as well...got in round $25 and it skyrocketed and has been stable the past year. What is your play here? It has a killer dividend as well.

"Got them in 2020 when they were on sale"

Same here, went through with the Div being halved with ET but it's doing nicely now, on top of sp doubling.
I consider it a bookshelf stock with the Nat gas exposure ET has been developing.

I’ve got OKE when it was around $27. Very good dividend. I will continue to reinvest and keep long term. Also have a decent amount of ET. Dividend has been increasing and expect another increase Q1 2023. Work for them. We’ve been moving a record amount of NG. Planning on increasing in 2023.

I’m not selling until after oil runs up again.

Which will be when a China reopens and the SPR is empty

I'm still in and plan to be for a while as there's nothing on the horizon to make O&G less lucrative.

Picked up a lot of XOM when it was $35-$45. Picked up a lot of PBT when it was below $10. Waiting for DNN to get back to $1.30 then I'll dump it. Grabbed some FRO at around $8.

A lot of what I've bought was when it was so low that if it ever gets down there again, it would likely be due to an overall market drop (recession, correction, etc) than a problem with the stock itself.

Investing to me sometimes is pretty simple. During Covid they were one of the only people that were still sending us bid packages for expansions and stuff so I knew that they of all the O&G companies were going to make it and be ok. So I bought some in the 20s.

Then last year I saw it breaking out and bought some more at $74 just to time the top perfectly and screw up my average

Yeah no doubt BP had underperformed in the last decade, but think that are pretty lean at this point. Plus don't want to pay the taxes since it was held in a taxable account.

Think their transition to more renewables will help them medium term

That's the problem, they are sloppily abandoning oil & gas (which looks to have a great 5-10 years ahead after a miserable period from 2014-2020) and going full on into renewables (this is a European company after all). Making dumb overpriced acquisitions in the renewable space, doing projects with questionable economics, etc. Just incinerating capital.

They are more concerned with signaling "clean energy" than they are with making money / return on invested capital.

Your description of BP reminds me why I’m nervous still holding on to some Shell stock. They have been kissing their European leaders asses the last few years and seem to forget that they need to focus on creating shareholder value.

Still very profitable in some areas, but wasting a lot in green investments that don’t seem like will be profitable for a very long time

Exactly. The Europeans are brain dead and every time I think they can't do anything dumber, they do something I have to read several times to make sure it's not parody.

XOM/CVX/COP/EOG for large cap O&G exposure
BP and SHEL don't know who they are anymore, just torching capital to virtue signal

Phillips 66 to buy DCP.

Do we sell shares now or wait until after the next dividend payout? Expected sale date is second quarter of 2023.

Phillips offered $41.75/share.

Current price is $41.90.
