We were pulled for a ued car loan in 2019, with me at 835 and her at 836.

We paid the car off in 6 months and continued to pay all bills in a timely fashion. We applied for a HELOC in 2022 and were then in the high 790's, with no reason to have dropped.

We then found out the HELOC rate was almost 12% so we declined using it. Waiting for it to expire.

Stop pretending like you know how they calculate that shite.

It’s based on credit history meaning your history in managing credit.

Your income to debt ratio has a lot to do with it. Paying off debt can lower it due to affecting credit mix, credit usage ratio, etc

How old a baw are you to not have a mortgage in 15 years? I have credit cards and have built 3 houses the last 17 years. Have had a mortgage for the last 17 and for the 1st time starting in June I will be a renter after my house sells. I haven’t been able to find anything I like in the area of Houston I’m looking for.

Bought a small house lived there for 15 years sold it for double what I paid for it.

Then bought a house and used that money and some savings to pay for the house. Bought it at a 20% discount ole baw was just ready to sell it.

I am 26 with a 790-810. I have approximately $320,000 in total debt (student loans, mortgage, and truck). I have $111,000 available credit in the form of CCs with less than $2,000 of that used. Average age of 4yrs, 3 mos. 0 derogs, 31 total accounts. 1 hard inquiry (dropping off in June 2024).

Debt is not a terrible thing if you manage it well and ensure you will not always be in it. 0% financing and CCs intro rates are awesome if used CORRECTLY.

I have been debt free since about 2009. My credit score is over 800. I have no idea what my score was from 2009-2022. I only know it's above 800 now because one of my credit cards shows the credit score online when I paid the bill. The only balance that I have had since 2009 is credit cards which I pay the balance monthly.

that's not how it works. doesn't affect your credit score for 10 years I think.
