re: What's everyone been buying? Here's the one week performance for S&P as of 12/24

They're mutual funds, not individual stocks. Nuveen International Growth, Nuveen Real Estate Securities, AMG Managers Fairpointe, Black Rock Equities, INVESCO Diversified, Fidelity Contrafund. They all went up nicely in the 3th quarter, but are tanking now.
I looked these up (minus black rock since I have no clue which one you have). You noted you've held these since 2011 so below is ballpark performance (assuming you paid 2011 highest price).
Fidelity Contrafund: Up 32%
Invesco Diversified: Up 30%
AMG Managers: Down 4%
Nuveen Real Estate: Down 12%
Nuveen Intl Growth: Up 10%
I did look at black rock, and for the most part they all appeared to have positive gains from 2011. So overall, assuming you did a diversified allocation to all of these, I would assume you are still well in the green on your portfolio.
That being the case, why are you panic selling? If you don't need the funds in the next 12-24 months, why not hold on? I mean no disrespect but this seems like a knee jerk reaction to just pull all of this out (and throw it into crypto at that).

I am seriously considering selling everything, but am studying crypto a little deeper before converting everything to that.
Stocks started off strong today, but just looked and noticed the DJIA is back in the red again. It just continues.

There you go, buy high and sell low, then put it into speculative investments

I'm selling my entire stock portfolio. There's too many uncertainties and Trump's tweets and Mnuchin's meeting with bank execs are enough to let me know there's no future there.
By all means, sell low.
Let Tweets determine your financial decisions.

Did you sell everything before the DJIA bounced 400 points?

Well, Trump has kept a rare low profile today. Just waiting patiently for some errant tweet or off the cuff remark, or some cut directed at the Fed chairman.

Basing investment strategy off of tweets? Wow

I'm convinced you purposefully try to be wrong with everything you post. Nobody could possibly be so consistently incorrect unless it's intentional.

His last tweet on twitter is listed at 6:18PM Dec 25. Not sure what you are talking about

I don't follow him on Twitter. The Poli Board has several posts about his tweets today. I thought those originated today but maybe they were from yesterday.
In any case, if Trump's tweets are what's moving the market, then whatever he wrote yesterday when the market was closed would affect the market today, right? That was my point to tarzana: Trump's tweets don't move the market.

Fair, but the poster would cling to that as some type of post victory and ignore your larger point.
I don't follow trump/use twitter much either, but it was a quick google search away when making a point as strongly as you were

Generally speaking, I would agree with this statement.
That said, I wouldn't put it past Trump to announce via twitter previously unknown changes in trade/tariff policy though which would move the market

Now I don't have a Twitter account, but how do you know he's tweeted today? I haven't seen that on the news.
Posted on 12/26/18 at 1:57 pm to GenesChin
Now we know why the POTUS didn't tweet today. He was busy visiting our troops in Iraq with the First Lady.

You don’t think the “tariff man” tweet hurt hurt the market?

Largest 1 day gain in history, I think.
