All three are beaten down but with the government passing out funds to increase domestic SC production there has to be significant upside in the sector.

Intel is the long standing leader in the market with a good div but lots of headwinds and competition. They seem to be the safe bet especially if the div.

Thoughts?

AMD. INTC has been on a downward spiral for decades, TSM has China risk, and NVDA is a disaster.

INDI.

Big moves recently and I expect it to cool off for a short while.

Amd seems to have intc for the next couple generations of chips. Also gpus are where the future seems to be as far as machine learning etc, and amd and nvda both lead there, so I've been and will continue to be long amd and nvda. Gimme lisa su and Jensen huang all day.
Gfs and lrcx are other holdings of mine in chip space. Lrcx stands to benefit from onshoring greatly.

You could do a semiconductor etf like SOXX if you can’t decide on a specific company.

But I like TSM of the 3.

Intel is the classic value trap. Go with the better companies: AMD or NVDA

AMD and NVDA don't actually produce any chips themselves. They both heavily rely on TSMC for production, which is building in Arizona right now. Neither will see any money from the CHIPS act.

INTC R&D literally getting funded by governments all over the world to produce chips in their countries. I'll buy and hold and see where they are in a few years.

AMD cannot exist without TSM. They can literally charge them whatever they like.

Thanks to taxpayers, intel can build their own fab now, here in america, and greatly increase profit margins compared to amd, who has absolutely zero power.

Not sure how people can make a long term case for AMD here?

Are there any investment outlets or assets to take some long term fliers on cubic boron arsenide semi-conductors (raw materials, chemical companies /manufacturers, etc)? I know it is probably way too novel with too many unknowns for commercial scalability - but could be interested if there is something with an angle similar to small /micro-cap pharmaceutical companies with new medicines

I agree with this. Even with the CHIPS Act, Intel will still have a heavy cap-ex burden to shoulder. But the main concern I’d have is their continued poor execution to date and marketshare risk vs. AMD and/or NVDA in their respective spaces. As of today, INTC is sitting right at its 52 week low… and for a reason, IMO. Not saying it couldn’t bounce, but I do question where it goes from here. I’ll continue to be long AMD and will continue to play NVDA as an underlying on option trades.

For tech div plays, I’ve been chasing IBM all year with short puts. I still haven’t managed to get the first share, but I’ve cleaned up on premium.
