Bought two flights to Rome to board a Med Cruise in Sept.

OK, I get it. I've been lazy. can someone link me to the proper procedure for magically increasing the value of my points? They are the prime reason I mess with AMEX and I'm not getting the value out of them I should.

Unless something has changed flights are the only way to go. They are the only purchase I am aware of that you get a dollar for dollar trade. That being said I haven't paid cash for a flight in years. Dave Ramsey may argue credit cards are evil but if you're responsible they are great.

I get my points off my company AMEX so it's kinda a bonus since all my company charges are expensed. I got a bunch of gift cards to Bass Pro and bought a shotgun.

So I get a Delta Sky miles account and transfer points to it? the link did not really explain how this works. pardon my stupidity

Yes I have 250,000 points I'm going to transfer soon, been hoping they would have a bonus promo.

The nice thing is that the points don't expire. Miles with an airline do. You can hold the points in the account until it is advantageous to transfer them and when you have a trip planned in the future.

Only transfer the points that you need to cover the flight in question. Don't just willy nilly go all-in and transfer all of it.
