What's your best guess?
Mine is confirmation for the feds to not reduce rates thus a fall in the market.

Doubt it really matters. Rate cuts will be few and far between this year.

Sometimes the data doesn't justify the move. This market is fake anyway. Spy back to 595 by eow.

The market thrives on hope and that's either dashed or bolstered by certainty. CPI forecasts are .3% MoM and 2.8% YoY (up from November's 2.7%). Hitting estimates would signal no rate cuts would be likely until September-ish, so the market should go back to bearishness. Coming in below estimates would send stocks to the moon (as the market would start believing it signals sooner cuts), coming in above would just strengthen the bull run.

With no other news today I'd agree but, the big banks are reporting and are coming in above estimates. I think that may spark a rally. But, we'll find out in a few minutes.

The market loves the report.
And I love my 2/21 and 3/21 calls again…

Finally shelter caught up. Another full 1pt of rate cuts back on the menu this year

Doubt it. And certainly no way to confidently predict at this time.

You and Inverse Cramer were spot on.
