The amount my chick spends is shocking.
She comes from money and that is a bit concerning for me.
Nails here, hair there. Money just vanishes like a fart in the wind.

Congrats to all of you on very nice money management obviously. I think a lot of savings depends on when you have kids and where they go to school. I had two kids before I was 27 and they are both in private school so unfortunately I don't get to put as much as I would like in retirement.

I am 25.
When I am 30 I hope to have:
$35,000 liquid savings
$80,000 in investments
No debt
Right now I have:
$13,000 in liquid savings
$23,000 in investments
$4,200 debt

Any particular reason you carry 13k liquid and not pay off the debt?
Just asking...

Oh I do this, for sure. Ha. I'm just saying target numbers are mostly useless, apart from telling you an effect, of sorts, of your current saving pattern.
I have all the usual targets, but they are more yearly. Outside of basic things like having no debt, comfortable emergency fund, and a minimum of 15% toward retirement, I don't plan much. I suppose if I didn't already have those things I'd have more target numbers to hit.

Lol damn man, y'all must have had some bad experiences.

22, almost 23, so I'll lay out a plan for what I want by my 28th bday.
$35k in ROTH (hard to guess since we may hit a bear market here soon)
$100k in brokerage ($33k now but not contributing; same as above)
Start paying more than minimum on mortgage (about $30k paid off buying price, $100k to go) Will most likely move in about 5 years and would like to have downpayment on larger house come straight from condo equity.
Hope to hit $80k salary by that time as well.

What's your living situation? Do you or will you have a house?

32 years old
In 5 years hope to be settling into our forever home, not sure if we will build or buy
Max Roth for wife and I, as long as we are eligible
10% to my 401k
Wife has state retirement
In 5 years my oldest will be 15, and I still haven't really put much thought into college funding, and it scares me.

Happy for all yall. I had tons of rough times which knocked my dick in the dirt repeatedly. Plenty unforeseen medical bills. Layoffs. Incurred debt due to being in a jam due to the above several times. It puts you way behind the 8 ball. all you can do is get back up and stay the course. Remember you are way ahead of most. Look at what most at your age have planned. Now look at most retirees. STAY THE COURSE.

You not doing a 529 or something? Even though Obama tried to hi jack those, seems like a no brainer if you can swing 50-100 a month into one.
