Visa stock...still loving it!

Previous threads about Visa from 2014 and 2015 are unfortunately locked, but it is funny to think about the buy or not buy debates back then about Visa. Great stock, and I still have no reason to think it won't continue to go to the moon. The yield is so low because it can't keep up with the rising stock price! Keep on swiping those cards!

It's been a great one. Plenty of dividend growth to come too. Think it'll be safe for 30 years?

Absolutely. Visa has penetrated less than 20% of the world market. There is so much growth potential.
Where is dabigfella? He's usually got a great take on Visa.

I am rolling thanks to some TBF preaching....those threads were pure gold.

Yep. I believe sone of those threads earned the right to be included inside Money Talk's lone sticky thread.

Yep, you been preaching for a while on the V. Good call.

I'm a fan, I think I read something awhile back that said something like 75% of transactions in the world still occur with physical currency.. which would conclude with visa only having 20% market penetration as someone mentioned earlier.

Just returned from Rwanda. In 2013 practically no one took a credit card. This time even the local duca (outdoor free standing shops) frequently took them in Kigali, plus restaurants, other merchants.
Definitely spreading in Africa.

I have MO in my portfolio. Going to buy some Visa tomorrow. Your advice is on the money

V has been on my watch list for more than a year. Biggen's info for a while wasn't enough, my UBS, company sponsored 401k passive broker, mentioned it and CRM two weeks ago and I got in for $5k. Obviously long term.
But my point is, I would have been wiser to get in on TBF rec , ... I'm just absorbing info and making plays, both long and short.... MT is a valuable tool.. thanks boys

I'll say this about Visa, the true pimps of the world if you will. I have 5 convenience stores, I pay in total give or take $70,000-90,000/mo in merchant fees, the bulk of which go to visa. Alot of stores I own, my profit margin is 10-15 cents, between the swipe fee + their percentage visa makes the same if not more. Extrapolate that across all businesses in america and calculate the percentage of cash people use and the sky is really the limit.....unless of course some tech co like google or apple or amazon decides to launch their own payment processor and completely undercut V or AMEX.
What a business model, pay no rent at my stores & then make just as much as I do without any of the permitting, headaches of the employees, and none of the other headaches of running a business.
