Have some cash to throw into my Vanguard funds and curious how this board would allocate:
VFIAX - 500 Index (admiral shares)
VHYAX - High Dividend (admiral shares)
VIGAX - Growth (admiral shares)
VGT - Info Tech
25% to each or more emphasis on one or two of them?
VFIAX - 500 Index (admiral shares)
VHYAX - High Dividend (admiral shares)
VIGAX - Growth (admiral shares)
VGT - Info Tech
25% to each or more emphasis on one or two of them?

this is the only MF i have and it has been great since i switched from VG to schwab. i am up 142% on it, although i mainly use ETF's.
allocation is up to you like i said it is the only MF in my portfolio so i will not comment on the others. The index ETF's i like are VOO and QQQ.

is this taxable account? if so, think about ditching the dividend fund. depending on tax bracket you could get a good taxable equivalent yield in VWALX. (tax exempt muni bonds)

Missed a letter, but VFIAX, my biggest holding above is the admiral class of VOO.

Yes, but curious why that advice? I honestly don't know. Any other benefits besides paying taxes on the dividends?
VWALX is at 3% YTD and VHYAX is at 11%

sounds like you have it covered.

Bogleheads:

in a 22-24% bracket, I would not recommend munis; you'll probably get a slightly better after-tax yield from corporate bonds of comparable risk.

I have my roth and rollover traditional IRA in VTSAX. It seems like over time VIGAX outperforms VTSAX. Would it be a good idea to change to VIGAX? I'm 43 so I'll likely have another 20 years of work and contributions to the roth.

There's a ton of overlap between VGT, VIGAX, and VFIAX. Nearly 60% of the value of VGT is in the top ten holdings, and half of those are shared with VIGAX which also has 60%+ of its value in its top ten holdings, then several of VGT's top ten are in VIGAX's top twenty. There is also significant overlap with those and VFIAX, which has 40% in it's top ten and half of those stocks are in the top ten or so of the other two.
If you like bubbles, proceed, because if the air goes out of one of those, it's probably going to come out of all of them. If you like Nvidia, Apple, Microsoft, and Broadcom, you got plenty of it.
But remember, you really shouldn't get investment advice from random people on the internet.

Any of those on the long and rebalance.

OP, put your entire portfolio (Vanguard plus anything else) into your fav AI tool to ask it to analyze the correlation of your portfolio assets and make reallocation recommendations basis your financial objectives, timeline and risk appetite.
Always do your own thinking, but I found this to be a great starting step to better understand how well diversified (or not) my portfolio was vs my intent.
Found a few important insights that I did not realize (couple of holes, overlaps and concentration areas that needed attention).
Note - AI can be a bit general, but as a 1st step General may be all you need.

Appreciate the advice.
Yes, there is overlap but maybe more than I had realized.

yes you must compare the top ten holdings on each of these funds. I have an oversized position in VITAX and its top ten is very similar to that of the total market index funds. There’s no point in owning multiple funds if they include the same tickers

Appreciate the advice. Have spent the morning moving things around and distributing more around growth, international, small, mid...
