I guess he wants more inflation.

Trump could announce 60% Chinese tariffs and 10% across-the-board tariffs shortly after taking office

Do you realize this will mean domestic production increases?

There are a lot of things we don't produce and can't produce that will get hit by a 10% universal tariff.

Yeah this is going to be inflationary. All of the companies paying tariffs will pas along as much as possible to the consumer. I doubt it creates any new employment. It takes years to build manufacturing facilities . Also, do we have a workforce to staff these factories/

Not sure what that has to do with my post.
Sure domestic production might increase in a few things, but don't think 10% is enough to bring much back to the USA.
All it will do is raise prices

So much for the fiscally conservative party

Raise tariffs and lower income taxes. This is a major win for the middle class.

It is conservative. It allows your people not paying income taxes to help out and it frees up money to lower income taxes for the people footing damn near the entire bill

It didn’t increase inflation in 2016. The Chinese ate the tariff. Inflation started post-COVID.

Maybe the definition of conservative has changed then. Tariffs are taxes for whoever is doing the importing (American companies) which is then passed down to consumers (you and me, poor or not).
I don't know what this means.

Prices inflated almost 10% over the first 3 years of the trump admin.

I understand he doesn’t like comparative advantage but this isn’t a difficult economic concept.

Inflation was 1.4% under Teump and his tariffs.
Maybe.... just maybe lookat the how and why of them and not what msm tells you will happen

You know better than that. We can crunch the math if you want.
Washing machines last time. Remember that one. It was my favorite one you talked about in 2015/16.
Prices didn't go up.

Frogtard can never break that down
Roger tried and it cost everyone an extra 100 per year by their own math so 10 extra a month

Not so.
I will use the example of washing machines raised by people in 2016.
25% tariff. Should expect prices to ramp up right?
Well... they didn't. Trump left a loophole that allowed companies to not pay that tariff as long as they opened a plant here.
Jan 12, 2018 — Samsung plans to produce one million washing machines at the Newberry County facility in 2018.
No tariffs but jobs came in.
Until you are willing to shed the blinders promoted by globalism and dig into details.....
