Everyone and their grandma is coming out with a steaming service.

Is it just me or is this a waste of time and money for these companies?

agreed. let the consumer decide who survives and fails.

otherwise the cable companies will be forced to cut their rates to lure people back

Competition is a good thing, but it would be nice if one would offer everything I want, so I didn't have to subscribe to multiple

I believe AT&T & Cox/Spectrum/Comcast have what you're looking for

Wont be long and each streaming service will have it's own library of content... lets call them channels

Some giant media company will probably offer a service that has 4 or 5 different streaming services in one place ... we can call those packages

Add a few packages together - maybe call that a bundle - and then only pay $160 a month for 150+ channels!

Wonder if they'll let me rent a Roku for a monthly fee........

This is why some people think services like Roku will be so lucrative. More people streaming + advertising.

But they don't offer any exclusive content

I do think there may be a market for an aggregate service that would give you access to a bundle of the streaming service exclusives. If you could get all of the Disney, Netflix, Amazon exclusives in a bundle and pay say 80% of the total combined costs for those services I think some people might go for it. And perhaps the people that offer the streaming services would go for it as well just to grab up more subscribers even if it's at a discounted rate.

Is that the angle Hulu is trying to go with their Disney+ & ESPN+ promotion. Where they would lose me is it's the basic Hulu, not the Hulu +Live TV; which means I don't get the live sports that I actually want to watch bc of the limitations on the ESPN+....But, it's a start

Its funny to me that the only way these streaming services are going to be affordable in the future is to bundle with other services. There was a concept similar to this that came out in the 1980s. It was called cable.
