Directions of the market based on futures always needs to wait until institutional money starts hedging in the morning premarket. Although you can get an idea overnight, all one needs to do is look at volume, and understand a lot of retail futures trading takes place outside of normal hours, becuase retail traders often have jobs.

I just always have VIX calls for insurance, and every once in a while trade around them. So I shorted VIX all week this week, but I collect a huge VIX gain, which somewhat offsets my premium throughout the year. Very conservative philosophy. Conservative investors use margin and derivatives wisely. Works for me. I don't need a ot of day to day involvement, and this latest episode passed without tkaing much of my time. I did short JNK in dark pool as well. Again, an extremely conservative trade.

Ho Hum. Collect an insurnance settlement today. It just amazes me people insure their cars, but no their retirements. A good number of them seem to pay more attention to their cars than their retirement as well.

Only because they generally have to insure their cars. If it wasn't required, they likely wouldn't do that either.

Yeah. They will post to message boards and Twitter during the day, essentially theft of their employer's time, but won't take five minutes, log on to their 401K, and rebalance. I've literally been slaughtering those people in the markets this morning. It is what it is.

Testing that 2620ish line for the S&P and 24250ish Dow lows from the other day

Rinse, wash, repeat. I have VIX calls for insurance. In times like this, I collect on my calim, and I shorted around that position the last three days. Even today spreading 32.5 / 37.5. Also shorted JNK. Someone is on the other side of those trades, others are on margin, and still others are forced to see other things I want. All three of those people are getting slaughtered by me today.
Things will settle down, they will soon be able to go back to posting on FB and Tweeting while they're supposed to be working shortly.

Schwab's StreetSmartEdge is working fine for me.
Are you referring to Schwab.com?
ETA: I just signed onto Schwab.com with no problems.
