All of these guys and girls show up to Congress with moderate wealth and leave with exorbitant wealth. That would be eye opening… if there was a disclosures form for incoming and then after a few years.

Politicians should not be in the market while in office.

The real problem is not government officials trading stocks, it's that the government officials have enough power to influence private corporations and their value.

I don’t object so much to them holding equity positions, but especially those who serve on various committees should be restricted to blind trusts IMO.

I also have a major issue with current campaign finance rules and laws, but that’s another topic… where the rats are in charge of the cheese.

Rep. Pat Fallon, who sits on subcommittee responsible for DoD software contracts + cybersecurity, sold up to $250,000 in $MSFT right before JEDI contract cancellation in June 2021.
Pat is my Congressman. I'll have to ask him why he didn't tip me off, haha. Other than being a football player for Notre Dame I have no problem with him.

Tubberville made millions of dollars coaching football so he probably had millions invested before he was elected.

I believe blind trusts and index funds would be a good idea for US Congress people and Senators. However, inside information could still be passed along to "friends and family" and it would be hard to stop unless they got greedy and stupid. Hunter Biden comes to mind, and he hasn't been prosecuted yet.

Something needs to be done.

Stop voting for people just to beat the other side. Vote for people you think are actual humans that have sincere interest in America winning, not themselves.

As others posted, that site provides no insider info info. Did not want Tuberville to win, but he is actually voting like his constituents want ... which is what a representative Of the People should do. He will continue to be a better Senator than his new counterpart, who completely fooled the Alabama voters... which is not hard to do.

Now, as another poster posted, they should pass a bill to end trading for all elected officials, as well as their staffs and their immediately family.

... I believe Tuberville would support that and I will ask him the next time I get a chance.
