Inflation first happens without raising prices

Costco paper towels. Same price as the previous several times buying them. Now with 20 fewer sheets.
140/160= .875
Inflation rate: 8.75%

Can you explain how a 12.5% reduction in volume translates to a inflation rate of 8.75%?

This example is anecdotal. The price of costco paper towels per sheet neither proves nor disproves inflation. I sincerely hope you understand that.

Yes, and that same white house thinks the price of a Big Mac is going to stay the same with a $15.00/hr. minimum wage.

So it’s made up proof of real inflation?

I don’t see the point of arguing that we’re currently experiencing inflation by using made up examples.

The point is that something like this does not get captured in a CPI model when measuring for inflation. Are you that dense to where I had to explain that to you?

The CPI model most definitely includes a bunch of different aspects of prices to measure inflation including quality and quantity.
