This was done with washing machines in Trump's 1st term. 2018-2023 washing machine tariffs stimulated investment in domestic production and led to no long-term price increases. Washing machine prices are now below pre-tariff levels, and prices have risen less than consumer inflation.
Uhhh
A washing machine was like 300 bucks in 2017 or 18 and 650 in 2024
That’s the cheapest floor model washing machine at Home Depot

I’m coming back to the money board because y’all are discussing theory and I like that
I think yall would enjoy tim Dillon’s interview of Steve bannon except there’s a boner pill commercial in the middle that was off putting
Basically he gave me a term that identifies with my views well “neobrandeisian”
Brandeis was a Supreme Court justice who broke up monopolies because he knew they would collude with the government if they got too big
Nowadays Walmart and Coca Cola write the laws on food stamps in addition to poisoning us and putting small businesses out of business

What just happened? The market was rallying all day after a bad start and then it went to crap in a matter of minutes

I nibbled a little more off that dip, the market is terrified of tonight

Wondering exact same thing

I moved heavy BTC ETFs on dips. Sorry you guys think the world was ending on indices moving 5% from ATH and have no stomach for any moving in markets while we try and correct this ship. Everything is the end on any move Trump makes. I know at this rate there will be no such thing as a retirement to live when we have $100T debt in 2050 so why fret such minor events when I know action needs to be taken. Imma let the man cook since someone finally wants to try for me to maybe have a future. I don’t even have kids but I have nephews and friends with kids I’m still not so selfish that I’d like to see them have a future also over crying about minute market corrections after insane runs.
All the super financial guys in here don’t know how to short or buy a put if they are so 100% certain trump is taking us down?

The fact you think he’s doing this for average Americans is comical. He doesn’t care about anyone but his billionaire buddies.

These tariffs are perfect
Perfect
Perfect

You have proof of this broad Democrat line? I mean helping billionaires usually helps average Americans any way. Stupid billionaires hiring people, making purchases, and shite.
If he is helping with the debt he is 100% helping my future. Let him cook and see what works. No one here knows what will work because the only person that seen someone tackle a debt is the moron that bragged about Clinton tackling the debt that wasn’t even in the same universe as $36T+.

There’s no way to fix the debt and unless you’re a 50 year old boomer you’ll never retire
Come on in to accelerationism, the water is fine
We’ll all be tribal warlords soon

That is very likely true my man. Because all the other politicians will fight Trump to the death even if he finds a way or people will vote in some new piece of crap that will break shite again.
But I’m all game for trying because if it just accelerates on any stock market gains will not matter and at best we living on trading, batering, and tribalism with no cash. Haha

My favorite part of all of this is you have people saying that the tariffs are amazing and pretty soon we aren't going to have to pay income taxes because the tariffs will be funding everything etc etc etc
Then there is a whiff that the tariffs might get dropped due to a new trade deal and the same people who have been shouting from the rooftops how tariffs are the best thing since sliced breach are happy the tariffs are getting dropped.
It's not like any trade deal with mexico or canada will result in no longer paying fed income tax, which is what these people were touting as one of the benifits of the proposed tariffs

There are no 50 year old boomers. Most are retired at this point.
