Oh and FYI, even when leaving out the commodities, we’re spending $1B a day on this war. For a bunch of mouth breathers around here that were jerking off to DOGE 12 months ago, seems like a giant way to ensure the deficit stays out of control.

You got downvoted to hell, which is a shame, since you make some interesting points. It's probably MAGA-Cuck hate, since their dear leader can do no wrong, so don't feel too bad. Full disclosure, I voted for Orange, simply because the alternative seemed like absolute garbage at the time.
Your thoughts, and I guess what you could call an overall thesis makes sense to me, I don't know if things will develop how you describe them, but so far, its spot on. Unfortunately its only been a few weeks. I'm hoping Orange cuts and runs, declares victory and moves on from this mess before we start seeing worse economic effects because of the increase in energy prices. Remember, its not just crude coming out of those ports in the gulf, its LNG, refined products, petrochemicals, etc. Most of these are globally traded commodities, so the impact of this war is broad and deep.
This is the one point were I think you are just completely wrong, the muslim ummah consists of hundreds of different ethnic groups, racial groups with different cultures, languages, traditions, nation states and political and economic agendas. These people will never act as a one unified body.

This entire adventure was poorly thought out and calls the entire Islamic world to jihad against America.

Below is a long but detailed info by a guy named Calvin Frodge. He’s a shipping trader and understands the industry quite well. Recommend the read. shite is scary, wonder where the off ramp is for this administration.
I will stay in my lane and not question what he says about shipping, but I had to take that guy on several times on twitter over the fact he completely lies and couldnt read a set of financial statements if he fricking tried. Like terribly embarassing attempt to understand rudimentary disclosures.
I will not even get into the disgusting twitter spaces he did. Cannot take him seriously after that.
So my grain of salt is pretty big with him.

Yeah trust me, I don’t give a shite about the guy or 90% of his talking points but he was all over the oil tanker issue during the start of Covid. Him and Kuppy know what they’re talking about when it comes to global shipping/commodities

Maybe he needs to stay in his lane too…I think the “big picture “ here is a effort to preempt or delay WWIII.

Define devastating and to who? I’m just waiting for the bottom so I can buy at a discount. I’m gonna make more money on this dip than I did in April of last year.

I think he’s talking about economically on a macro global level, not random people waiting to flex on the money board.

I like how they use the term “old money banking elites” instead of the more common term

This board is comprised of daddy’s money layabouts and sigma grindset fb marketplace pressure washing guys that brag about making 7k from full porting the dip
The real economy doesn’t matter to them either because paw paw paw paw owned a rail road or because their old lady gets food stamps because they never got married in the eyes of the government

Oil prices could go a lot higher if this doesn't wrap up soon.
Adjusted for inflation, the current oil price is about at the average over the last 50 years around $65.
If the supply shock played out like the summer of 2008 the price would hit $150+ and if it's to the degree of the Iranian revolution in 1979-80 it could go to $250+.

If Iran would’ve gotten nukes they would’ve attacked New York City and Israel

This issue is not even close to being figured out. Fertilizer & aluminum prices both going to sky rocket across the globe.

“Iranian attacks have knocked out 17% of Qatar’s LNG capacity, with QatarEnergy’s CEO warning repairs could take up to five years and disrupt global energy supplies.”
