Finally some relief. Need Biden's dumb arse to tell people 200K are going to die again and scare people to really push this forward.

Yea, the fact that you need double doses of the vaccine will make things harder/longer

this sell off in stay at home is unwarranted at this time

I agree wholeheartedly about the tech sell off. It's completely overdone and short sighted.

But why so much negativity about the vaccine, itself? My portfolio took a huge hit this week as well, but the vaccine trial results were fantastic news for life in general. It's been known for quite some time that covid vaccines were going to require much colder temperatures than traditional vaccines, which is why UPS started building freezer farms and has been working on shipping logistics for several months.

As for 2 doses, I don't see why that's a big deal. Most children get vaccinated in multiple doses. Also, they're not going to just stop development of the vaccine because one works. It's obviously not ideal and they're going to continue working on improving it.

Based on the reporting so far, I'd expect FDA to issue EUA approval by the end of the month. They just have to meet a final safety milestone which should be in about a week.

Faucci estimates that by April the vaccine will be available to anyone who wants it. I think it's certainly warranted that cyclical stocks are bought on this news. Next summer might actually be kind of normal.

I also agree with you about the acceleration and permanence of the digital transformation, and I think this is what a lot of the value investors who are fleeing tech are missing the boat. With Zoom, the travel sector will NEVER recover to 100% of pre-pandemic levels. Also, the levels of debt these companies have accumulated is cause for concern. The pandemic has made them much leaner, so maybe that offsets the loss of revenue as far as their profitability is concerned. Regardless, their revenue will be lower and that missing revenue is going to Zoom, TDOC, cloud computing, CDNs, network security, etc.

not negativity at all, just reality in November 2020 relative to the still long road ahead. and it is absolutely fantastic news...EVERY sector will benefit, which is what we want.

Yeah, there are around 200 candidate vaccines that are being developed. I like those odds.

And, yes the digital meetings have their own legs beyond covid. Used to take Acela from NYC down to Delaware for meetings a couple of times a year. That stopped happening as soon as virtual meetings with live video, documents and graphics became practical. Thank goodness for that. It would waste a whole day.

Still, even with the vaccines knocking out covid for everyone at real risk, the economy has a lot of damage to recover from. Some states did a lot more to self-destruct than others, too.

Bought 200 shares of PINS at close yesterday. Owned them at 16 in March. Still kicking myself for selling at 20.

Look at this:

Corning (NYSE:GLW) says that paints and coatings containing its Corning Guardiant technology have demonstrated to kill more that 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, in two hours or less.
The test was conducted under U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approval.

"Our scientists have developed this unique paint additive using our highly engineered glass-ceramic technology. We are excited about the new lab results and look forward to working with our valued partner PPG," says chairman and CEO Wendell P. Weeks.

Corning Guardiant contains copper, which has been shown to exhibit antimicrobial efficacy when applied to surfaces, consistently reducing germs on contact.

Alongside collaborating with leading paint and coatings manufacturers around the world, including PPG, Corning currently seeks EPA registration for its paint product formulated with Corning Guardiant.

Not sure about that article specifically but Corning should own the glass vials needed for the vaccine. I am not against parking a ton of $$$ into it.

FYI, I am out of DQ and bought SOL yesterday. I don't know if it is a buy today but look for dips. You still in DQ?
