Cloudflare -- an internet service that is supposed to keep websites up and running -- went down, taking dozens of websites and online services along with it

Second Cloudflare outage in the last month or so. They’re blaming this one on CenturyLink, but it seems ridiculous that they would be so reliant on a single service provider.

Yeah that’s a pretty bad defense

Could be them.
I am assuming they are tied into the old Level 3 fiber backbones which majority of US traffic runs through, they were bought by centurylink a few years back.

It's ok to root for both. Edge is the future and NET has been good to me since ipo.

What's going on with fsly this morning?

Looks like Chinese government trying to play chicken with Trump. FSLY paying the price this morning.

However, even though TikTok has selected a bidder, the deal could be slowed down by the Chinese government, which updated its technology export list on Friday to include artificial intelligence technology used by TikTok. TikTok's Chinese parent company, Bytedance, said in a statement over the weekend that it would need a license from the Chinese government before it can sell to a U.S. company.

I wonder about how long it takes for a company to get an export license. I'd expect that FSLY will get a huge bump if/when the Tiktok parent company gets an export license.

So, am I to take from that that a preliminary deal has been reached with Microsoft/ Oracle, but the Chinese government wants to take its pound of flesh? Is there any timeframe mentioned for Bytedance to have the deal approved?

I bought more MSFT and WMT in anticipation this morning. I am banking on the deal going through. We will see what happens.

thats a good strategy IMO.
i'm long on FSLY & PINS, plenty of MSFT in my funds.
a bit of a hedge, i dont want to own WMT right now in the event that oracle gets the deal.

It's been discussed some in this thread already. These aren't uncommon and are usually just money grabs.
