For suspicious activity. I'm guessing because I cashed out all my ibonds and they were deposited today.

Call them and they can't lift or give me a reason and say I'll have to wait til the investigative team calls me back.

reading online people have had this problem and it taking weeks to get ahold of them.

In the process of switching deposit and withdrawals to my other bank.

I use 3 different brick n mortar banks myself. so nice to have.

no worries about sofi type crap happening with an online only bank.

It's odd that a government deposit can trigger suspicious activity.

Well called them twice this morning. They finally unfroze it. Wouldn't give me a reason why or tell me how I could prevent it in the future. Just that a supervisor had placed the freeze, but wouldn't put me in contact with them.

fricking BS.

You're pretty stressed out over a less than 24 hour bank hold. You taking your BP meds

find another place to put your money. Stay away from national or online only institutions.

You have two choices. Continue with them or move to another financial institution. There are no other options.

It's cause they wouldn't tell me how long it would take to hear back or get it cleared up and all the stuff on line about it taking two weeks. Plus I pay everything at the beginning of the month.

My mortgage was half processed. Utilities coming out Tomorrow. Phone bill tomorrow.

Credit cards would need to be paid this weekend. Etc.

All that is set up to pay from my account. So I had to go pay electric today. Talk to the mortgage company. And set up all my CCs to be paid from my wife's. And decide if I need to change my direct deposit for early next week.

ETA: plus just got a email my mortgage didn't go through today cause they tried to withdraw funds while it was frozen so now I have a insufficient fund fee and SOFi won't pay it.

Pro tip: If a financial institution has a stadium/field named after them, stay away.

Screw brick and mortar. If you think walking into a Chase or BoA location could overrule the corporate fraud department, you're an idiot. Even a lot of the credit unions that are "local" use back end systems from national providers just like the big boys.

USAA has never screwed me, try them if you're eligible.

I am in Huntsville and use Redstone Federal Credit Union. Kind of neighborhood mom and poppy and ubiquitous locations if I need to see a person eyeball to eyeball. Also keep a Chase account backup for certain out of state activity.
