As I have said for days this could all end if melvin and the like just capitulated and admitted they made a bad trade.

Melvin said they covered completely the other day.

Damn I hadn’t checked this thread in 20 pages and stumble onto your post

I didn’t make that call on my own. It was based on the research that I did, which was heavily influenced by the research done by DeepfrickingValue aka RoaringKitty and Rod Alzmann (gmedd.com)

Yeah there was a report earlier in the week that Melvin had closed their short position completely.

I believe it. No way they weather those losses before throwing in the towel.

I don't care how you came up with it, the call was spot on. Any other ideas like this one?? You've got my full on attention now! No homo...

They didn't "hold the line" on -1,700% or whatever it would have been for them, that's absurd

I guess I'm still not understanding how it can even go up from here with what is going on.

What am I missing?

You said they covered their shorts. There would be no line to hold if that were true. If shorts were actually covered, the stock would’ve naturally come down.

If I wanted to get in on GME right now what would be the best way to do it at the moment, with Robinhood not allowing it?

Btw the fact that this has recovered and held at above 200 right now is incredible. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of this but I wonder if the brokerages are finally saying “no mas” we aren’t lending anymore so there are very few funds who still have the ability to short at this moment.

the system isn't prepared for people not to panic

*ETA: what else can they do? even if they shut down the markets themselves, it would frick the short sellers, right?

That is my question as well. If the Reddit army can't buy, then what will drive the price up?

Also, with all of the shorts expiring tomorrow- how exactly does that drive the price up?

Theoretically it should go up with them buying to cover. But with the minimal open interest out there, how does that happen?

I'm likely just missing something completely but the rules seem to be completely out the window today.
