I hope you are right...

ETA - that didn't come out right. I hope you're wrong, but I don't plan to hang on to it long. i have a stop loss order at my buy in price, so I have nothing to lose.

I had my fun and sold my UNH at just under $274.

I don't normally do that, but it just seemed to be a good opportunity. Doubt I'll try it again, soon, but you never know. Tomorrow is another day

Yeah.
Just blew it on UNH. Did not see drops at these levels coming. C'est la vie. It's why diversification is a good thing. We're up overall today despite UNH dropping a load (pun intended)

Lightened up some on this dog last Sept thank goodness. Should have sold covered calls on at least a portion of the rest. Wouldn't have helped much at these levels, but it's an all around miss nonetheless. Pigs get fat .... Hogs hold UNH

Now it's a wait (hang on) and see. Nearterm, UNH may drop more. Momentum is what it is. As of today, analysts still have it @ > 500 fwiw. I hold enough that until the WSJ story settles, I'm certainly not putting more in.

Well done.

The UNH thing just pisses me off because I knew better, damnit.

I'm not used to losing, and I'm certainly not used to dropping $100k over 2d in a single name.
Those are the kind of things I'm accostomed to offering others empathy over.

To be fair dont think anyone saw a drop this big to a company in the dow 30 /top etf's in this short of time frame. Many top Analyst are now just updating their targets of 600 to 380. Holding and hoping for some momentum back up but that is no guarantee. Every time in the last few weeks been 1 step forward and two steps back.

Yep.

TipsRank

Based on 26 Wall Street analysts offering 12 month price targets for UnitedHealth in the last 3 months. The average price target is $450.09 with a high forecast of $595.00 and a low forecast of $350.00. The average price target represents a 64.06% change from the last price of $274.35.

Was $545. And had been as high as $625. Oh well.

But...Looking like the start of a bounce back. Only $350 to go!

I know. I said I would do it, but I bought 100 shares this morning because I think it is way undervalued and even if it never makes it back into the 600's, there is a lot of money to be made at $300, $400, etc...

I don’t understand how it’s acceptable for analysts to arbitrarily do that.

The system would be so much more effective if analysts were placed in timeout for six months whenever they feel the need to make a 100% adjustment to their analysis.

Just man up and say…F if I know.
