What's you guys' opinion on this offer from Robinhood....
you can now earn an estimated 7% APY when you lend USDG onchain via through a self-custody wallet, all in the Robinhood app.
Here’s how it works:
Buy USDG: Buy USDG, a crypto stablecoin backed 1:1 by US dollars and cash equivalents.
Lend: Select the amount you want to lend onchain via Morpho through a self-custody wallet.
Earn daily: Your earnings will be added to your balance daily and reinvested automatically.
No fees and no lockups. Request to withdraw your funds at any time. Insurance protects covered losses in the event of cyber or smart contract exploit.

Insurance is even more laughable
Good luck

Have never done anything like it, so have no knowledge of it which is why I'm asking. Your "definitely wouldn't do it" has been noted.

Quick Google on the failures of these totally backed stable coins depegging and leaving bag holders examples are numerous

ask yourself, “self, why would robinhood make this offer to me? What’s in it for them? Is it likely or unlikely that robinhood will make money on this transaction regardless of my outcome?”
robinhood is a fine trading platform but they are also an aggressive monetization machine and just like Google, Meta, Amazon, etc they are highly motivated to extract every single penny they can from every single user they can.
Users of robinhood would be well served by assuming that every interaction is as opportunity to be sold something…just like Facebook and Google search

Unless you have a decent memory and can recall the time they shut down trading on GameStop so wall st could “win”.
Then, they’d be a shitty trading platform that screwed over tens of thousands of users.

Whatever happened to the poster that swore Celsius was an infinite money glitch?

Would never use robinhood after they blocked people and froze accounts from buying GameStop stock to supposedly “protect investors”
I also find it funny that crypto is supposed to be something to decouple from the dollar yet they tie this product to the dollar 1:1. Yes I understand decentralized assets but ‘stable coins’ seems like complete and total clown world nonsense that is nothing but a ruse.
