RSBR, sorry I didn't get back to you. I think we were both too busy anyways

No worries man. I was really too wiped out to go out and drink anyway. We'll catch up soon.

If this would have come out in 2009 we would have 10 different threads on it and multiple pages. Today, its relegated to after-thought status...

Within a week of Lehman’s bankruptcy, Morgan Stanley had lost $84.8 billion of prime-brokerage free credits, according to a Morgan Stanley treasurer’s report released by the crisis commission. The next week, $43.3 billion more flowed out.

Offered and accepted. 20% raise before bonus FTW. At the midpoint of the potential bonus (so being conservative), 50% raise after bonus FTMFW. Added experience to keep moving on up = priceless.
If I can keep this YoY salary change going I'll be making a million by 30.

No, the place I'm at now. Its an IB, but its valuation, so its a mix of valuation stuff (fairness opinions and such) and financial reporting valuation (intangibles, M&A, etc). You could basically say its a research position for private companies.
I just don't have the resume for an IB job yet, I accept that. Every one that has left here in the last 2 years has gone to work in an IB, so my intent is to continue to build my resume and hopefully get to that position next year. A lot of what we do is energy related, the work is for all intents and purposes identical to a research position, and I think its obvious people realize that given the exit ops of the people who've left recently.

Yes, because I have about $1100 in cash right now and $2500 in bills that have to be paid in cash next week.

Better ask for a cash "sign on" bonus for converting from intern to FT to be paid this Friday....
I don't have fond memories of being near broke many moons ago. Whatever happened with the car that was stolen from you in NO?

Well done...damn near impossible to into IB without at least 2-4 years of real world experience.

They found it like a week later, it just wasn't worth salvaging. eta: Oh and I misheard the HR lady on the phone, the official offer letter was another $10,000 more than what I thought she said.
