With Trump in office the Fed is no longer interested in causing and propping up bubbles

Good on Powell, honestly.

The market cannot and should not be the main determinant of Econ policy or fed policy

He’s not going to cut rates just to juice the stock market. He only does that if the president plays grab arse with him. But we already knew that. This is nothing. The fed will be there with QE if it’s necessary. That hasn’t changed.

You mean when he cut 50bps before the election? Conveniently...50 bps rate cut - 48 days ahead of a Presidential election is a first in 75 yrs....

What on earth did that cut do for the election? Shouldn’t he have been cutting if he wanted to help Kamala?

Yes. That was the intent. Just because it didn't work because they let 15 million illegal aliens into the country and had record inflation does not take away the fact that they tried

This is the problem with cult members. They only view things through the lens of their own politics. Some would say that there was a 50 bps rate cut in September before the election in November. That way there wasn’t a rate cut in October which would have been more impactful on the election.
And it ignores the rate cut in November and December. AFTER THE ELECTION!

I’d say stop worshiping a megalomaniac, but I fear it might be too late for you.

Why does anybody still listen to this asshat? His grab assing in 2022 while inflation was scorching should have been his immediate dismissal. Whatever this buffoon does going forward will be wrong anyway.

Inflation during Joe Biden's presidency peaked at 9.1% in June 2022, the highest year-over-year rate in about 40 years.

The annual inflation rate in 2022 was 6.5% and, in case you fell asleep for all of 2022, the Fed raised rates 7 times in 2022 for a total of a +4.25% increase in rates, including a +.25% increase the week before mid-term elections in November.

Your entire "the Fed helped Biden" bullshite is just that, bullshite.

Besides, it was nowhere near "record inflation," Ms. Drama Queen.

Incorrect. The Fed dropping rates by 50bps was clearly intended to juice markets and give the MSM their "economy is great talking points". He had no reason to cut rates especially 50bps at max employment and inflation was above the target level.

Incorrect again. Highest Inflation in 40 years is record inflation. I didn't say "Highest Inflation Ever". Your understanding of the English language is subpar. I guess that's from all your years spent in Moscow....Comrade

Wrong Again Comrade....You are really looking like a dumbass in this thread. That is par for the course with you though. Per Grok 3...

"The annual inflation rate in the United States for the calendar year 2022 was 8.0%."
